I think he is doing a great job and I am loving watch us play in a stylish manner again and if it continues then I would be in favour of giving him the job on a two year contract.
I just wonder if the bosses feel his lack of personality is an issue and will it count against him getting the job?
I hope it does not!

Does Luis Enrique have a personality? Maybe he does, can't say he strikes me as having one. Or Zinedine Zidane at Real Madrid?Hansi Flick?

Not too sure players care too much for it. Unless it's Brian Clough.

I really love the fact that he gives dull press conferences. Hope it never changes. Makes it quite a change from Amorim's press conferences.

It was'nt the players I was referring to it was how the bosses feel the image of of a Manchester United manager is portrayed worldwide.
Like I said, for me it is all about the football so it does not matter.

I want my managers to be demented trolls during the game. To slag off the club and individual players in the press conferences, and complain about absolutely everything - because nothing is ever their fault, it’s always the ref, the wind, the grass length, someone not respecting the ball, fachts.

That’s personality.

No issue at all with how Carrick carries himself, it’s refreshing.

I would want to know how he see’s the team progressing, and what his vision is for next season. But that would i course be behind closed doors.

His job is to use the players at his disposal to get CL football. So far, that’s going well.

It did not go well for Ruben but there is no doubt he had personality and apart from his last presser I do not recall him slagging off playes or generally blaming others for bad results.

Some may see him as a bit bland or boring, but can't say that concerns me. It's preferable to egomaniacs and blame shifters who enjoy having rants and causing drama when things get tough

You do not want to suffa?

There's room for all sorts of personalities.

Fergie had angry, high-expectation dad energy.
Pep is a micro-managing savant who looks like he's having a mental breakdown every game.
Klopp tried to create the image of a cool older brother/uncle, and he may have succeeded in a sense (even though it's clearly a facade).
Wenger was the nerdy professor.
Mourinho is basically Napoleon.
Van Gaal was the hilariously inapproriate uncle at family gatherings.
And Ancelotti is just cool as ice.

LVG was classic!

Zidane did fairly well without jumping around like a clown

It wasn’t Amorim specific.

Carlos Ancelotti looks like he would be the most boring man at a party. Great manager.

As with most managers post Fergie their communication style in press conferences at the beginning will be praised and when its coming to an end it will be criticised. If he's made a permanent manager and in 2 years time we are struggling really badly he will be talked about as not being inspiring, not having the big personality for the club etc. At the end of the day if you are winning your communication style is just right, if you are losing its a problem.

This is great. My compliments.

What lack of personality?

If you’re gonna say something say it with ye chest

“Do you guys think that the board maybe possibly think he lacks personality? I hope not! But maybe?”

He seems to be doing well in the man management/motivation side so who's to say. Being an interim might help, a bit like a substitute teacher but right now it seems fine.

I've no issue with his personality, its his tactical acumen and in game management I'm dubious about.

If he was to get the permanent job, he needs to add someone with tactical acumen of some sort.

There will be times, like we've seen recently, were the opposition managed has got the better of him tactically, were he needs to turn it back into our favour. Individual brilliance will only take us so far.

I predict a riot

He‘s flat, no doubt about it. During the game, he stands there watching and doesn‘t do too much. But I can tell he‘s very focused and involved in the game.

I‘m not worried about it. There’s questions about his managing, that will maybe be answered before the season‘s over.

How does he handle adversity? So far we had one truly poor performance, and we bounced back from it.

Isn‘t it very British the way he acts? It would be like me complaining about a Dutch manager who is too straightforward.

He's a docile Leo, but his roar carries weight behind the scenes I suspect.

Rio said he's loves garage and is often seen during parties with a beer in each hand dancing to UK garage tunes

It's fine to be boring to the press. As long as players listen to him I dont care.

I'm sure a combustible personality is the last thing the club with be looking for after the last guy.

As a manager he was only a spectator.
Aye, guess that’s needed sometimes given what players you have. Still needs to implement a structure.

Imagine Amorim overengineering that Real Madrid team

Op: .. yeah but, nit pik nit pik nit pik . Be Lego head, ffs

Glad the players see reality every day instead of being unemployed experts on the internet

This place ffs,

Match thread dicks

It would be great if there was an actual world class English manager for once, I think Clough was alive when I was born but I don't remember him. Closest after him would be, what, Hoddle? Keegan? Can't see Carrick as another Clough or Fergie but maybe he could be an English Ancelotti? Or at least, better than Hoddle and Keegan

I rated Hoddle he is just an oddball.
