Never a red. Honestly freeze framing shit like this is ridiculous, Cas has done nothing wrong there, wasn't he and Hughes hugging too? Yes his hands shouldn't be there but never in a million years is that violent conduct

Has anyone considered the victim in all this?!
The Crystal Palace kit man will have to iron out that collar.
Also, has Hughes recovered from being told to calm down?

This is basically what's happened today. The VAR has just shown him the upper image because it's the one that looks incriminating, and intentionally omitted the other angle that shows that it's not a chokehold. It's dishonest and designed to get the desired outcome, especially since he's blatantly ignored looking at any other potential incidents in the melee, where he would've spotted Ayew's piece of conduct if he had actually been looking for it.

Would Hughes really be smiling with Casemiro right after and not appealing to the ref if he'd been choked? There's no chance that they'll overturn this but VAR has been incredibly dishonest here.

came across Gabriel Agbonlahors view on this on twitter, possibly the thickest man alive
He’s building his ‘pundit’ character on an Anti-United agenda. Antony is overpriced, Casemiro should go to jail & so on.

He’s as stupid as they come.

It was stupid from Casemiro, such an experienced player should know better but whatever, a red card is not the end of the world seeing our next 3 games in the league. I’m just worried those cnuts in the FA will treat it as an attempted murder or some shite and extend it to more games, making him miss the final which would be a huge blow.

Captain material - seriously? If this is the composure you are showing at the age of 29, then you aren't a Captain material. Such a stupid thing to do.
I mean, look at Cantona or Keane who both had their angry rage moments (and are undoubtedly amongst 2 of our best ever captains). Or someone like Ramos who was a sensational captain for Madrid despite being prone to an occasional brain fart.

Look you have to realise this is quite personal to him and might have actually triggered PTSD. He was once strangled in much the same way by a ghost on the football field:

Today I learned that his name actually is Casimiro, and not Casemiro.

Stems back to his early Brasilian days when his name was misprinted on a shirt. He had good luck and got superstitious about it. Ever since then he's stuck with the incorrect Casemiro.

The red card is looking more annoying as the time passes. Hopefully we have it us to overcome Leeds and Leicester without Cas and Eriksen.

Live broadcast showed Var repeating scenes of Ayew on Fred as if they were analysing that, which makes it even more annoying.
They ignored that to move to Casemiro. Var is dishonest there is no question.
The scene shown to the Ref is wrong on many levels, Var has done a " here's the answer ref, who cares what the question is"

Silly boy. Of all players he should've known better

Such a soft red as well.

As a result a three games suspension for 'violent' conduct. Great

Sorry but it was a red card all day long. Just like he deserved the booking against Palace in the reverse game, he is not a child, he is a man and professional footballer, he should know in this day and age these things have a habit of being punished.

He has been the standout performer this season, worth every penny of the 70m but that does not mean he is superhuman and a god like figure above criticism. If that was Mct, Harry, Lindelof et al there would be people out with their pitchforks complaining about it and how they almost or could have cost the team 3 points. Casimiro does it and nothing much gets said.

He will be a big loss but that is what you have a squad for it. Will still get 6 points off of Leeds so folk need to chill!

I'm not sure it was, particularly given the alternate angles that have emerged. Still we need to be able to overcome his absence, and a Leeds team led out by Chris Armas really shouldn't trouble us that much (famous last words...)

Eth confirms he won't appeal, which makes sense given he doesn't believe they can win despite thinking it was wrong he was the only one sent off

No point risking the extra match ban

Today I learned Casemiro is actually spelled Casimiro, but they spelled it wrong on his shirt and they never changed it.

Suspension might work in our favour. Forces Casemiro to rest and save his energy to potentially strangle someone on Barca.

Could be a good thing as long as our players go out and win the next 3 games, which they should be capable of doing with or without Casemiro. This is a test of the team (to be honest it shouldn't be a big one) and if we come through it then our best player should be rearing to go for the rest of the season.

A prudent decision to not appeal the length of the suspension, although it does mean that I'll miss my first chance to see Casemiro at OT against Leicester City.

Fukk!
