I agree, as good as he’s been in certain games this season it’s time to move on. The club has made so many bad decisions based on sentiment and keeping him would be another one.Get rid I'd say.

It’s a consideration, I certainly wouldn’t say it’s a no brainer.Extending him on more reasonable wages is a no Brainer.
He is the greatest ever defensive midfielder and he isn't that old. Everyone on the forum said he was done two years ago, but should just go to show how bad the average opinion on redcafe is.One of our best players this season. Best player on the pitch today even at his age. How good must the Madrid team have been when he was the water carrier of the midfield in his prime? Demonstrates how far off we are from being a good team.
I would strongly debate that. But even if true, he’s never been a great midfielder for us and he’s been here 4 years. He is the greatest ever defensive midfielder and he isn't that old. We'd be hard pressed to find an equivalent replacement and it would be outright impossible if you add in his experience and know-how.It’s a consideration, I certainly wouldn’t say it’s a no brainer.
It's hardly sentimental to keep the one player in our squad who has proven to be a good and reliable central midfielder? Especially if we get into Europe next year, you need depth and Casemiro is a quality experienced player who just needs his minutes managed and a side that doesn't expose his weaknesses. Ancelotti took over Brazil and instantly made him captain for a reasonI agree, as good as he’s been in certain games this season it’s time to move on. I understand the rationale. For me, it’s not just that he would need to accepts a vastly decreased wage, he would also need to accept being a squad player - because we should be buying a couple of midfielders that would seriously limit his appearances. We'd be hard pressed to find an equivalent replacement and it would be outright impossible if you add in his experience and know-how.
His profile is rare as is and those we've been linked with don't seem to quite fit the mold either and it's important to remember that workrate alone doesn't constitute a good midfielder, ugarte is evidence of that.
Some of our of wage bill will be reduced come summer, if we could keep him on a bit longer and on more manageable wages it would be a very low risk course of action and potentially one that could pay dividends down the line.
Fair enough everything will have a debate in football, even Messi. He has the strongest case to be id say, like Messi has the strongest case to be the greatest overall player, although that is obviously a stronger case.I would strongly debate that. But even if true, he’s never been a great midfielder for us and he’s been here 4 years.
I’m not doubting he was a great player. However, he’s never been a great player for us. He’s been good and very good at times, but nowhere near a world class player (for us) over 3.5 seasons.Fair enough everything will have a debate in football, even Messi. He has the strongest case to be id say, like Messi has the strongest case to be the greatest overall player, although that is obviously a stronger case.
Let’s all just be happy the round-the-corner-first-time-to-nobody pass has been stopped
Decent again but no more - looking forward to hopefully sorting our midfield out in the summer
Suspended for Villa who have a far better midfield than ours.
He can't run.
Him being our best midfielder is just a sign of how bad the rest are.Our best midfielder but who most certainly needs legs around him, but continues to be played in a central midfield two alongside a number 10.
Smart.
Him being our best midfielder is just a sign of how bad the rest are.
His head is a ball magnet during set pieces. How is he so good at being in the right place in the box?
It's a bit like Merino at Arsenal.
Is he the best Attacking Defensive Midfielder in the world?
He would be magnificent as a sitting #6 allowed to attack only on set pieces. Or alternatively with another energetic but disciplined B2B midfielder.
Bruno gave it away and could’ve committed the foul right there at the half way lineDon't blame him for that yellow card, he had to do it - the annoying thing is that the rest of our team allowed it to get to a situation where he had to make that challenge.
