Annihilate Now!
...or later, I'm not fussy
Bruno gave it away and could’ve committed the foul right there at the half way line
Yep, or one of the defenders could have just come out and clattered him.

Indeed, but it was the most functional midfield we've had in years but out of fashion if you will. I liked them in midfield two, Fred was the least of our problems at the time and we should've spent elsewhere. That's when we saw his best. No matter how poor Fred was on some departments, he was very energetic and compliment Casemiro the most ever has in our squad.
Surely it's better to force the player to shoot under pressure and on the dribble than to allow them a free kick on the edge of the area whilst inevitably getting booked and ending your involvement in the game. His first instinct to foul as soon as someone gets goal side of him has cost us numerous times now.Don't blame him for that yellow card, he had to do it - the annoying thing is that the rest of our team allowed it to get to a situation where he had to make that challenge.

Our defenders were backing off, their player was getting closer and closer. One shot = Lammens mistiming his jump as always = their goal.Surely it's better to force the player to shoot under pressure and on the dribble than to allow them a free kick on the edge of the area whilst inevitably getting booked and ending your involvement in the game. Yeah, 1 defeat in 9. We're a laughing stockAlso a clear sign of managerial stupidity when he’s your best, and you continue to play him in a 2, with a number 10.
I mean, it doesn’t work, hasn’t worked and won’t work, so how about trying a 3…. As if.

Who's 2nd? Sure Liverpool is first.I think you’re forgetting which club you support if that stat impresses you after spending 228m in the Summer (the third highest spend in the league).
No wonder we’ve hit these levels with fans so quick to put standards to rock bottom.
Liverpool, Arsenal and Newcastle all spent more than us.Who's 2nd? Sure Liverpool is first.

I'm answering a factual question. They also lost their best player in fairness, so brought in 157m.
We certainly had a ”better” window with a bigger spend.

Sure, but it's a bit pointless because you don't also mention that we have moved on 90% of our attack in a 6 month period. Or just the fact that we have recruited badly for years so had a bigger need to spend. And I’m adding a little nuance to your response to a question that was asked of me.
It was crazy indeed, looked like conceding straight away after the sub as well. Amorim really needs to get past his safety blanket of having 5 or 6 defenders on the pitch. It would've cost us if Newcastle weren't so bad tonightWild decision to take him off. If we’d lost more would have been made of it.

How bad are people's memories? He's only played beyond 70 minutes like 5 times this season he always comes off and surely we don't need to question why?
If he could have played 90 minutes he would have there's no doubt.
You only had to see the incredulous look from Casemiro to know he was capable of playing beyond 60 minutes. We were camped in as well so it wasn't as though he needed to get through loads of running. It was a bizarre time to do it and Amorim was lucky it didn't backfireHow bad are people's memories? That's all it is though, a hint. He's far too wasteful with the ball in dangerous areas and he doesn't have the legs to make up for losing it. He simply can't be a starter if we are serious about building a team. Our best player bar Lammens and I see he gets a 4.8 rating in the MD? The only player pushing us forward with a hint of quality. It's a shocking result but, jesus lads, some common sense.
Thats just the player he currently is. When the opponent choose a game plan like today and we struggle to execute our own, all the weaknesses are at full display. I don't think, he was good - he won the ball here and there, that is good but he also wasn't working as a pivot in the centre to wiggle ourselves out of the pressure. Thats obviously a team issue and obviously even exaggerated by having Ugarte next to him with the exact same issues but Casemiro creates as many problems these days as he solves. Yes, he'll pop up with a goal here and there. And maybe with a good pass. But he is below par when it comes to mobility and in this league, it shows. We could go around it by having a very controlled style (see Norgaard at Arsenal). But we don't have that - it is always chaos. And it is problematic for us as much as for the opponent. They ran rings round him tonight, it was one of those games where his lack of mobility was exploited and he didn’t offer a lot else to compensate.
