Look at Smith-Rowe in the background

He’s a bigger goal threat from midfield than Bruno.

Who has the stats of goals conceded with him on the pitch vs without?

Could we convince him to take one more season?
We must. We have the ability to trigger an extra year. And if his wages are a issue, discuss. It is insane that we will let him go. Form is temporary. Class is permanent. His partnership with Mainoo works.

Has he decided to leave or if the club not activating his last year? we need to keep him and integrate another midfielder into the team whilst he is still here, imho it’s a mistake letting hom
go at the end of the season.
We chose not to trigger an extra year which is scandalous.

Another great performance from him. Seems to have struck up a bit of a bromance with Carrick, wonder if that has also played a part in the last 3 games, Carrick will know exactly how he needs to be managed at his age and position.

Carrick seems great in touching people. Especially people's heart.

We've got some job on our hands replacing him.

We offer him a year's contract with a +1 option -- then offer to take him into a coaching role when he's, like, 35.

He seems to really enjoy being at United. Has enough Portuguese-speaking buddies there. It will be an interesting offer from his perspective.

I'm so surprised we aren't extended for one more year
Sure we will save wages but not keeping him might put us back one step especially if the replacement doesn't hit the ground running. (Also puts a lot of pressure on the replacement)

He's been great as expected in this three man midfield. The obvious things work, who knew?

Very quiet here after literally being voted best player of the round when some didn't even vote him our best player of the match?

It does show the bias, maybe because he wasn't seen here in his prime to realise how good he is. The fact he's even this good now, is a testament to his talent and work ethic.

This is an interesting analysis of the difference between Amorim and Michael Carrick tactics in relation to Casemiro

This season, Casemiro has found himself in the situations that get the best out of him, more often.
his short time as United head coach since replacing the sacked Amorim in January, Michael Carrick has improved the conditions that Casemiro has found himself in on the pitch.

Defensively, moving from Amorim's 5-2-3 shape, which required players to press high at times, to a more conservative and compact 4-4-2 shape has reduced the distances he has to cover.

I feel Carrick's style is (instead of playing rigid formations), he is playing in blocks (4 together on the wings / at least 2 together in the midfield) and also other people make themselves available close to the player gets onto the ball.

so no wonder Case and other players are looking good in this system, basics of football to be honest and we are doing it fine now.

We really wasted Case in last 3 years by not giving him enough support and leaving huge gaps in the midfield.

I do wonder who they think they will get in who's better than Case? I'm pretty sure at the world cup he will show he's still one of the best CMs in the world. Obviously he's no longer term solution but he is certainly not a person we should be rushing out the door

He's an important player. Goes without saying we need to go all out on signing the best possible replacement we can find

I really don’t want him to leave and I hope the club are exploring a reduced contract option for him

Will be difficult to replace him but most important now is for him to stay fit over next 3,5 months.

He’s literally been incredible any time anyone has played him in a normal system and not asked him to run a midfield on his own.

Truly magnificent footballer.

I'll never get over how much ETH and Amorim misused him.

Absolutely class midfielder.

Am I the only one that doesn't mind paying him the same wages on a 2-year-deal? Just having him around the players alone is worth it I say. Even if we signed Elliot Anderson and Adam Wharton, he'd still play a lot of valuable games.
£300,000 2-year deal. do it!

I dunno about 2 year, but I'd be more then happy just triggering the extension and paying him 300K for another year.

I think he's the best DM in the league.
