I didn’t watch him much at all when he was at Madrid, and i genuinely didn’t know he is so good until he came here. Imagine when he was there in his prime

Counting the players we've signed whom we should have signed in their prime - Sanchez has the be the number one pick - wasted when we bought him but world class before. At least Cavani and Ibra were still good players. Could say the same about Falcao - completely washed up when we signed him (on a loan, thank feck).
Seeing him on the ground holding his ankle was a nasty reminder of how much we're depending on him for the rest of the season.
Imagine him out for the season with Ugarte in his position for the rest of the season...

I'd say he's still managed to play at a higher level than all those players and for longer
He has been awful for long spells though since he joined and there was a point where he looked out of shape and disinterested which is where a lot of that stems from. Thought what Carragher said recently was quite fair in that his first and last year have been really good but in between disappointing.
Was very good today though especially once the were down to ten men.
That was during the painfully obvious garbage team set up that Ten Hag had going on in 23/24. Asking him to sit on an island alone while we had 5 players press really high and the back 4 sit deep. Was just a suicidal setup and he got made a scape goat
Nah Ibra is top as he basically had one season and was very good, scoring big goals throughout. Case second as he did have some real shite form in the middle of his stint here. Larssen was a quick but great loan and Cavani was mostly god awful when you think of his attitude and bailing on us pre WC.
His one-year option is triggered by the number of games he starts in his final year. I believe if he starts all our remaining league games, it gets triggered, so at some point he has to be left out. Hopefully CL is wrapped up by that point.
Shite form caused by ETH, let's not forget the crazy tactics of leaving him out there on his own. Never blaming him for that.
Casemiro had a great 1st season and you can add this one.
Ibra was good but also extremely wasteful. There are crazy compilations of all his misses in that season, specially from Pogba passing
No he doesn't , When both Club and the player have mutually decided to part ways it becomes irrelevant .

Ibra was wasteful but then it doesn’t negate him scoring all those goals. If you look through his goals specifically, the incredible thing is how often it was a winning goal as well (vs Cavani who almost never scored a winning goal and also never scored in big games).
In a way I think we are also seeing the best of him, on the ball at least. He wasn’t this expansive and adventurous with his play in Madrid, and he’s maybe an even greater goal threat here than he was there.
One things for sure, he loves playing for us and he’s rolling back the years with his performances this season.

Yeah, the idea of Ugarte playing regularly was definitely a big portion of the dread.
I’d happily extend that contract for another year .
If this season ends in some kind of miraculous assault on 1st place, I’ll agree. But otherwise I can’t see it personally.
It would be interesting to see what Madrid fans think as I wouldn’t say he sacrificed his game for the sake of Modric and Kross but since coming here he’s shown he’s not just a defensive shield. Maybe he did show this at times in Madrid and I'm misremembering.
That Madrid side had prime Casemiro alongside Prime Modric and Prime Kroos. Then we have prime Ronaldo, Benzema and Bale up front and a brilliant defence also. They were better than Peps Barca for me.
Only SIX more games at Old Trafford for Casemiro to continue his love affair with the club and its fans. It feels like he's getting a standing O every game at OT right now.

He was unreal. Wasn’t asked to do as much in possession for obvious reasons but he had all of the intelligence defensively he has now but was far more mobile.
They truly became a dynasty when he was brought in at the base of that midfield.
Am I getting carried away? Maybe. Still, if United are going to continue setting up compactly in midfield, there's an argument for trying to change Casemiro's mind about leaving in the summer. Essential to all phases of play and if we compete on all fronts next season we will need what he offers, or have to spend big on a replacement AND backup.

What a classy and quality player - I’d have tears in my eyes when he leaves. His professionalism is what young kids all over the world need to follow. Just a true competitive spirit without pushing the laws of the game excessively.
