We likely need three central midfielders when he leaves, it would be great to keep him for one more season and have the benefit of maybe signing one of the bigger priced players from the Premier League and a younger player from abroad.

It’s pretty rare that a player would end his career being loved by fans of the two best supported clubs in the world. That is definitely something to look back on and smile.

Been class for 18 months, but it’s great to see him finally get the recognition for it and for him to enjoy the end of his time here. He’s one of the best CMs in the league right now, and easily our best. I don’t see who we sign that is an improvement. But the fans get what they deserve for calling him out for so long. Their wish will finally be granted when we bring in an inconsistent young CM who scores less goals and is not yet at his level.
