I know it won’t happen, but would love for him to stay a year. Sure there’s emotion in that want, but he’s playing his best football for us and is a menace at set pieces.
All these replacements barely meet a fraction of the aerial threat he has so someone else in the team were going to need to haul in a player who is as threatening.

It's infuriating we had 2 of the best midfielders in the world for 4 years and just refused to play to their strengths until the last 4 months.
Chances are he will get into double digits at this rate which will be outrageous for a holding midfielder
It turned so toxic when it comes to Casemiro in 23/24 but terrible basketball tactics from ten Hag surely were large part of his poor performances. We'll forget that happened.
His aerial ability is fantastic. I remember in his first season for us when he scored some headers (final vs Newcastle comes to mind) and I was surprised with how dangerous he is in that aspect for someone not that tall (I know it doesn't have much to do with height necessarily). But this season he's been incredible with his headers.
Four games left which is a shame but we'll be glad we signed him though it looked like 60m 'down the drain' at some point. Both Casemiro and Varane are class players but also classy guys and you can't not love them given how well they speak about the club.

You can’t coach what he has. It’s peak instinct. Because physically he shouldn’t be sharp enough to keep timing his tackles or tall enough to keep winning headers (on both ends).
The pragmatist in me is ok he’s leaving. Casa in the team probably demands a start or you get the rusty version of him (and he shows rust easily). We need the transition to happen sooner than later.

I'm still holding out that on the last day of the season we'll get this moment.
I now don’t want him to stay purely for non football reasons. If he stays another season and it all goes a bit tits up (which it could) he doesn’t get to walk away with this send off. I love it when a great of the game leaves here loving the club (more the fans than anything). Varane, Zlatan and Casemiro love the fans.

Casemiro made 11 tackles, won 16 duels and made 9 clearances - nobody had done this in 20 years of opta stats before yesterday, but yeah you’re right - he can no longer keep up.

He's 34. He's benefitted massively this season from only playing once a week.
Sometimes it's better to leave people wanting more.
If we properly reinforce the midfield, I doubt he'd play more than once a week anyway if he did stay next season.
Obviously, his leaving probably goes a long way to supplementing those very midfield reinforcements. And like others have said, leaving on a high is always nice.
I do think he's great to have around the club though...
I don't think there's a single player who can replace what he offers. It's a two man job unless we unearth a worldie talent.
Even then, they wouldn't have his experience.
