Looking forward to this. Team in good form facing possibly the best team in the world with arguably the best that has ever played the game. Shame the second leg isn't at home, but Old Trafford will be electric for this one.

I sense we'll go out of CL after this draw on fluke goals. DeGea are still not at his A-game as his focus at the moment is obviously getting a new contract. And what he's gonna buy with all the new money.

Barcelona will slap us unless Messi misses both games. They are a different animal with him in the team. If we have our best 11 and Barca don't have Messi for both games then I have us as favourites. If they have Messi for both games then we are massive underdogs.

Spurs are a decent draw for City but not great. Only Liverpool, Barca and Juve would have been defintely worse. Spurs have run 120 km in some CL ties, they proved very difficult for Juve last season. That's anything but a walk in the park for City. In between both games they play Palace away which won't be easy either given their battle with Liverpool for the title.

The worst draw we could have gotten and Liverpool are going to get to the final again at this rate, they got the easiest draw possible. :(

So Barca will easily beat us and Liverpool will easily beat them? Liverpool were hardly impressive recently at Old Trafford even with all our injuries. We are a different beast these days. Id look forward to a semi final against them.

Barca are good, but vulnerable. Even Roma eliminated them last year, and Juventus toyed with them the year before.

They are still favorites, but we can defeat them. Especially if Messi is not in top form.

Also, Spurs having a difficult draw is good for us, they will surely drop points in the league.

Win or lose, I am sure the tie will at least be interesting. This is about testing ourselves against the best in Europe, so meeting them at some point was inevitable. Would have preferred Ajax or Porto, but I am delighted to avoid the other English team - that would have been so boring.

Bring it on!

I hate complaining about draws and luck, it's so small time and its what clubs like Liverpool and City have done for the past few decades but it's very hard not to complain when you see how the draws have gone for Liverpool and City today.

City have had very lucky draws in Europe and the domestic cups this season; we've had the opposite. Just one of those years.

Just relieved that the FA/EPL/Referees Association were unable to bribe UEFA and make the conspiracy against Liverpool a Europe wide scandal. Well done UEFA and good luck Liverpool.

Cmon guys and girls. We have to push for 38 games per season to obtain enough points to get into Champions League - that's just for games like that: PSG, Barcelona etc.

Oh come on, if Liverpool and City were no longer in it we would be loving a big night with Barca.

What's bad about that is we need to take out a big stumbling block for them and provide said stumbling block ourselves :nervous:

This is a bit muddled, I do think Barca will beat us comfortably, yes, and I think Liverpool will beat Porto easily, that will put them through to the semis and with their luck this season I can just see them getting to the final again from there.

Feck right off. We get Barcelona while Liverpool and Juventus get Porto.

Sadly both of them will make the next round. Rubbish draw. Our rivals get much easier draws. Sigh.

Liverpool vs Porto will be a stroll.

Don't think Barcelona will be too pleased about drawing us either. Pique was at United when the spirit Ole has revived was still in operation, so he will know its not the same United they would have been expecting to face under Jose!
They all seem pretty pleased with the draw on their forums.

Ajax, Porto, Spurs, and United for the Quadrafecta, baby!

Ajax over Spurs, United over Porto in the Semis

United over Ajax in the Final.

As they should be honest. We can hurt them and they aren't the side they used to be but we are an easier opponent then at least three other potential opponents for them.

Anyone know how easy it'll be to get tickets in the Barca end? I bought flights planning to go anyway regardless of opponent and as I'm due a holiday. Not really fussed about prices.

That's the dream. Liverpool City Barcelona and Juve can feck off.

Sadly its much more likely to be those four in the semis. Wish a couple of them had at least been drawn against each other. Very very convenient draw.

Just wear your Chelsea shirt and you'll be escorted into either end free of charge. Chelsea much loved everywhere in Europe.

Nice draw for us.

Think it'll be:

Juventus vs Man City
Barcelona vs Liverpool
