Champions League - Quarter Finals - 7/4, 8/4, 14/4, 15/4

Is he unfit/recovering from injury or just out of form? He certainly didn't look great tonight but unsure what his fitness situation is.
Donnarumma disintegrated his leg in that ridiculous money grab last summer

Was out for half a year after Donnarumma ruined his leg. He's only just been getting some playing time again, and as was very visible today, is still far off from his best.

I think it was okay that we didnt get a penalty at the end when Olise was pushed. If fit Olivers line.
In the first half when Vini dived there was still contact from Upamecano and a bad ref might have given a penalty there aswell.
So at the end its one possible soft penalty on either side not given, im okay with that.

What im way more mad about is how we wasted several good counters at the end.
We could have killed the tie in these moments.

But we beat Real at their home for the first time in what...15 years or something, so im still very happy.

Why do the all the close replays of Mbappe’s goal cut out before they show it hit the ground? Looked over from the normal angle but all the close up replays never show it.
I only saw the replay once but it looked like was cleared by Neuer and bundled in by a real player. I thought Mbappe was crap for the most part. He gets in scorable situations so often and either hits the keeper or shanks it wide. Even that goal shouldnt have given Neuer a chance.

Exactly, these type of penalties even if by today standards are many times (or even normally) given, just bothers me.

Jokes aside - the one on Vini can be given, it's 50/50. Not much but Upa does lightly kick him, but it would have been really soft

The one on Olise was clear cut. You have to give that, VAR had to intervene. That is just a penalty, end of the story

other situation was the Tah yellow for the foul on Mbappé which again, could have just as easily been a red(but VAR is right not to intervene here)

That Madrid/Bayern was a heavyweight classic to be fair, the kind of game you want to see. Neuer, Mbappe, Kane, Olise all excellent. No way you write off Madrid next week either, Bellingham is obviously starting, but Courtois is a huge miss.

Killian was trully involved, extremely important goal, but nor precisly that great and quite wasteful, Vini for me played better, was more incisive, yet he just focus too much on trying to get some advantage and a tad sellfish too in ocasions.

Kane had a merely good first half, some better moments in the second and a very important goal.

On the other hand Olise and Neuer were trully excellent.

PD: Jude and Nrahim, also changed the match, Madrid started to be more driven, more precise and more involved in general. Batern subs failed to improve the team
PD2: Courtois is a massive miss

That was a penno indeed but Tah should have been sent off for what he did to Mbappe.
Come on, that wasnt a red card. Yeah he kicked him in his calf but it was more of a glancing kick (is that correct english?) than a real stomp.

Yeah. In the meantime, you should give some minutes in this tie to our wonderkid, thank you very much ;)
Your wonder kid still has a contract till 2029 and Bayern is the progress of extending it to 2031. Good luck!

Didn't you see the collision with Donnaruma at the club WC?
Broken leg und several ligaments torn in his angle.
He just returned in January and is still facing troubles with that injury.
He will need more time to reach his usual level. That's fine as long as he will be the great player again.
Kompany shouldn't have brought him in such an important match.

I didn't watch the club WC, but do recall seeing a clip of that challenge. Completely forgot about the tournament tbh.

That looked like penalty on Olise in last seconds. 3-1 would've been big advantage before game in Munich. 2-1 still is, but it's not over obviously. Sporting weren't going to knock out Arsenal even if they went at Emirates with 0-0, not even if they won 1-0 I think.

Hopefully Barca can beat Atletico as they play some nice football, at least they did last season.
Yeah hopefully Barca can get the job done against Atletico, like you say Sporting were always gonna lose this tie even if they won tonight because Arsenal look unbeatable at Emirates in UCL this season

What, and commit lèse-majesté??? He should already be lashed for not giving us a penalty in the first half
This may come as a shock to you so you better have a seat before reading on:
It is *not* always a blatant miscarriage of justice and a crime against humanity when your boy Vini goes down, complains to the Referee and still doesn't get a pen.

I'd give it more like 90/10 or at most 80/20 of being given as a penalty. No way contact this light, with the attacker flopping this willingly, is given half the time.

You are correct it is indeed a complete miscarriage of justice and an insult to Divine Law that Real Madrid didn't get a penalty at the Bernabeu in the CL. Michael Oliver and the VAR should be ashamed of themselves, it was a fecking disgrace
Yes indeed, nice to see some people make sense

He was out for pretty much the entire season so far eversince he fractured his fibula and a dislocated an ankle at the Club World Cup. He got a few minutes here and there since January but then had some complications with the ankle. It's very unfortunate and he likely won't be at full fitness at the World Cup as a result.

Ah now, it was possibly the worst thing to happen on the entire planet yesterday.

Awesome video tbf

The roberto carlos and ramos saves were incredible. Top goalkeeping
I laughed so much watching it!
In a way, Real and Bayern aren’t all that different, which is why I can never quite bring myself to hate you lot. And I’m sure there’s a similar video montage out there about Bayern (and Barca) too. It’s just that Real often have players I find thoroughly unlikeable, which is why I’m often against you.

Barca - Atleti or PSG - Liverpool.

Which will be the better watch? Closer call than last night.

I'll be watching PSG vs Liverpool, for the next Wirtz masterclass, easily worth it. The spanish duel might be bit more open, and has definitely more shithousery potential, though.

Don't think any knockout game that involves Atletico Madrid will be "open."

Don't know, there were a lot of goals between those two in the past matches they played against each other. B-Tec FCB are the favorites, of course

I know it’s from a Barca fan, but that makes it even funnier.

UEFAlona castigating UEFAdrid is always a game on its own but alas, the only true believers in the santity of football are younger than 5 yo and older than 85 yo :p

How are we in a quarter final of a European Cup after the disaster of a season we’ve had is beyond belief. It kind of reminds me of our run in 05 with the incredible odds stacked against us, but we don’t have a Gerrard or Alonso. We need some luck.

Real Madrid has had the rub of the green in La Liga a lot in recent years BUT:

The most memorable referring disgraceful performances in CL history I can recall have ALL included Barcelona and they have ALL been in favour of Barcelona.

- 2009 Chelsea "It's a fookin Disgrace!"
- 2017 PSG
- 2011 Arsenal, the RVP Red Card

And yet the entire internet (and more) is still living inside the Infantino/Ceferin bubble while pretending football is more than blatant cheating, manouvered wrestling or crass geopolitics. At the end of the day, gaslighting and tribalism are as equal as outside this bubble.

- 2010 goal v Inter that would've got them through to the final wrongly disallowed for offside
- 2011 goal conceded v United in the final wrongly not called offside

That's just off the top of my head. Almost as though all teams get bad decisions for and against them? It's crazy to see grown adults still getting involved in these daft discussions.

Indeed, specially regarding big clubs
