Champions League - Quarter Finals - 7/4, 8/4, 14/4, 15/4

Nothing matters more to me than this right now

Come on Arbeloa, Kylian, Vini etc, we gotta ruin this guy's week! Do it for him! And also just do it please :wenger:
How's the mood among Real fans? Do you think you can do it tonight?

If everything goes well, you needn't worry about anything Football until August, isn't that lovely? :)

We're Real Madrid. We believe we can do anything right until we fail, then we wonder what went wrong with reality and rail at the injustice of it not warping around us ;)

it would, if it didn't ruin the rest of my week

To be realistic, its a coin toss with this Madrid. Everything can happen, depends of what version of this team plays tonight. If the Madrid that played City appears, we can win. If it's the Madrid of the last 3 games, there's no way. Very irregular and inspiration-depending team right now. Bayern are very much favorites, you you could never rule out Real Madrid in the UCL.

That's what it indeed comes down to. Real is only one Mbappe or Vini counter away from drawing the game. Bayern should have ended it last week in Madrid, alas...
I wonder if being on two yellows is in Tah's and Upa's head. Are they a bit hesitant to not risk being suspended for a semi? The whole yellow card rule in the CL is stupid anyways, but that is another discourse.

Some scotsman named Ferguson i think?

If either Vini or Mbappe could be benched, that would increase our chances, but Arbeloa is just there to please the egos anyway, so not happening.

I have no doubt Vini and Mbappe will be fired up but half Real is Castilla-level for their pomp.

I don't get it.

The photos were a direct response to a viral trend where Barcelona fans and players, including Yamal, had adopted an "iconic" LeBron James meme to express confidence in a comeback victory.

Context behind the trend:
  • The Meme: The meme originated from the 2016 NBA Finals, showing a calm, focused LeBron James in sunglasses and headphones, which became a symbol of making an impossible comeback.
  • The Provocation: Before the second leg, Lamine Yamal reportedly referenced this LeBron James image to signify his belief in a Barcelona victory, which Barcelona fans used as a "remontada" (comeback) meme.
  • The Response: After Atlético Madrid defeated Barcelona to reach the Champions League semi-finals, they posted photos of their players (Griezmann, Alvarez, Lookman, Sorloth) wearing similar sunglasses and headphones.
  • The Meaning: The post was intended to mock the "overconfidence" of the Barcelona camp and celebrate a victory over a rival.
While Atletico players sometimes wear specialized red/yellow-tinted glasses for wellness (blue light filtering for recovery) as popularized by Marcos Llorente, this specific, coordinated social media campaign on April 15 was entirely focused on trolling their opponents.

Sick of seeing RM winning the CL. Just anyone except them. Knock them out Bayern. PSG always peaking at the right time.

I see.

Arbeloa is either very brave or stupid.
They are only one goal down, why is he going all out from the start?

My body is ready for a Bayern collapse and Madrid w*nkathon.

This is a typical false dilemma fallacy. Since when the choice of a style guarantees winning a particular trophy?
It doesn't, really. Rather, Flick's style almost definitely guarantees they won't win the CL but I guess, sometimes, football can also be about enjoying fun, attacking football. As a neutral, Barca is the team I enjoy watching the most across Europe since Flick took over, irrespective of if they win anything or not.

Based just on their levels this season, this should be a no contest and Bayern should go through easily. But Madrid's black magic in this tournament is undeniable, won't be surprised if they win.

This will be another completely brutal Arsenal match on the eyes given the front three and fullbacks starting.

3 midfielders, 3 attackers, how is that going all out? Bayern have 4 attackers on the pitch

Yes but there's no way to have fun when you get knocked out, specially when you are superior to your opponent but you sabotaged yourself

The refs certainly sabotaged Barca over two legs. Koke should have gotten at least three yellows in the first match, the red cards were soft, a penalty missed on Olmo and plenty of tactical fouls by Atletico not called correctly. How Turpin didn't even brandish a yellow yesterday was a disgrace.

But you do you.
