Champions League Quarter Finals | Chelsea vs Real (Tue) | Bayern vs City (Wed)

Woo what a great draw - I think it will be a Napoli vs Real Madrid final

Benfica is very dangerous on the other side as well. Don't think the Milan clubs will do much but Benfica vs Napoli are both really good this year.

Beautiful draw. Bayern or Real have to surely make the final, thank the lord. And a Real - Napoli final seems an exciting prospect.

I don't fancy us at all against City. They basically play very similar to us but are better at possession play. We are not used at all to mostly chase the ball and being dominated.
They’re not very good in possession this season with Haaland not getting involved in the build up play at all.
You’ll be shocked at how much of the game you’ll dictate

A perfect draw
Why?
Do you want City and Chelsea eliminated as soon as possible because you're an Arsenal supporter?
Even in that case I wouldn't understand it, because they can focus on the PL if they go out of the CL.

FIFA shafting City here

Does this bother you somehow? Unless you're a City fan, does anybody on here have an issue with City getting a really tough draw?

If it means that no (previously irrelevant) oil clubs are winning the CL, I couldn't care less.

I wanted Napoli clash with Bayern, City or Real to see how good they really are. Chances they go out against an other italian club are quiet high imo ( cup competitions are so different compared to leagues). Also would have been two cracking games instead of just possible one final game (where most teams play super carefully too)

Anyway when’s the draw for the proper European trophy?

75% chance of having an Italian club in the final
About 90% I’d say. Benfica heavy underdogs.

incredible draw for Italian teams.

Bayern very unlucky this year. Win 6/6 in the group Vs Barcelona and Inter, still get PSG in ro16, then City and then Real.

Toughest path to the final of all time?

Astonishing draw, (rich team) vs (poorer team) in the final is going to be a fanning manifesto for Ceferin and his football-for-all narrative. Also, pretty much any team can be confident they have a shot, apart possibly of Chelsea (just watch Graham Potter morphing into Harry Potter now ehehe).

Another German club about to be shafted by an EPL team. Why couldn't they get flipping Benfica or even Real (would've loved another match up between them).

Because a team that hasn't been anywhere near the final for many years or ever, in Napoli's case, will be in the final. For neutrals, I would imagine that is quite nice.

A quick note of trivia. If Chelsea win the CL it will put them level with Utd. If we use recency as 'goal difference' then Chelsea will be the second best European team from England. :smirk:

Chelsea will have won three CLs in 11 years, 1 more than Ferguson could manage in 20 years of CL football.

Absolutely, in our country we dislike our rivals.

Had a 10 pound bet with mate from work (city fan) that they’ll knock Bayern out. I obviously said Bayern.

Would be typical Bayern to go through all that and then lose in the final

Real can reach a CL semi final by beating basically the 8th and 9th best English teams this season.

As of right now, it is just that

Depends on your assessment of each team's chances against their quarterfinal opponent and potential semi-final opponent. I am nitpicking, but just because 3 out of 4 clubs are Italian does not necessarily make it 75% that one Italian team will make the final.

I don’t think this is a bad thing. 12 European cups in between them with potentially Napoli getting their first. Surely we don’t want the same shit every year?

Some non-Real Madrid fans wouldn't mind Madrid winning it every year if their teams weren't in the competition.
