Charlie Cresswell

I'd rather go for Murillo or Luka Vuskovic/Nico Schlotterbeck, but yeah.. for the price quoted not too bad a risk if the wages are cheap too.

He seems similar to Maguire, but less comfortable with the ball at his feet and not as good at actual defending. Very strong in the air and at set-pieces. Not great passing.

If going for this profile of younger player then it would have to be Vuskovic surely.

Murillo is a very different profile. His poor aerial ability would make him a no-go I think with Casemiro leaving and Maguire only with a year or so left.

We definitely need aerial threat for set pieces with Casemiro leaving - which may be a strong indicator how getting a better threat in defence is favourable.

Idea of getting Vuskovic is just not plausible I think. Dealing with Spurs just sound hellish.

Yeah, thats the only real concern with Murillo, but he is class though. But with Heaven and Martinez, I don't see us going for him. unless one is sold.

I hate using the term "generational" he is maybe the next great center back of this era, we should pay whatever its going to cost in my opinion. I am half hoping Tottenham avoids relegation so they keep him for another season and then maybe go for him next summer.

Those are some fairly shocking looking passing and ground defending stats. Presumably we've just been linked to him because he has some Maguirey looking qualities.

Maybe they also think that at 23 he still has some room to improve before hitting his prime in a few seasons. There's also the vague Leeds connection with Wilcox and Woodgate.
