What’s the reason? That would dilute all other shareholders % shareholding and therefore depress the price per share. As a general rule of thumb, new equity reduces share price, while new debt increases.

Why does the thread title still say European Champions?

Finally a non shite kit with the stars. Would be better if it wasn't a training kit but I'll take it.

Interesting that Azpilicueta is modeling it. Personally would have been happy for him to go to Barcelona especially as he should be pretty exclusively a backup for us next season.

To be fair, those pictures are taken way in advance, if i remember right. I'd be happy to see him stay as backup.

Lukaku loan back to Inter will be their acid test. To get rid of what seems like an unhelpful element in their squad, the Americans will have to accept a big financial loss. If they come through with this, the Americans can be depended on to let the money flow, just as with their previous Russian owner.

So, the vast majority of the the Major League Baseball owners have accused Boehly and the Dodgers of ruining baseball by spending 3 times as much money as other teams. They pay 170 mil a year just in luxury taxes as a penalty for spending too much money. And the response from the Dodgers has prettty much been “whatever it takes to be successful”

Congratulations to you, then. He sounds an upgrade from the Russian gangster.

Nothing about this is true. The Dodgers are going to pay $47m in luxury tax this year, still a big number (and a record) but nowhere near $170m. Accusing them of ruining baseball is silly, since other teams spent big before them and the Yankees spend around the same level in general. We shouldn't also get carried by the Dodgers' success. They are currently on a great run in terms of regular season performance over the last 5-6 years, but they've won all of one World Series. They're like the equivalent of Liverpool right now, a fantastic team that hasn't actually won very much, at least by the standards of great teams.

The bigger point is that the Dodgers (and Yankees, and to a lesser degree, Red Sox plus a few other teams) spend a lot of money simply because they have higher revenues. None of these teams are spending money out of the owner's pocket, they're all making profits. They are just equivalent to "big clubs" in football - lots of money coming, lots of money going out in the form of salaries, and therefore (for the most part) more success on the field. Banging on about the Dodgers spending a lot of money as if its some great indicator of the nature of their ownership is equivalent to an American sports fan talking about how committed the owners of Manchester United are to winning because they spend so much more money than the average Premier League club.

I'm sure Todd Boehly wants Chelsea to be successful. Just like KSE at Liverpool and the Kroenkes at Arsenal, I'm sure he is also somewhat willing to put money into the club via various instruments at key moments if he feels like there will be a greater payoff down the road in terms of increased revenues or increased club value. But its nothing more than that. He's not a billionaire benefactor, just a smart businessman who will look after his investment, like all these guys.

Looks like Chelsea and ManUtd are left behind in the market.

So many players left, transfer saga from last year and so many positions to address.

And kounde loves Barcelona and Barcelona loves kounde too. This transfer window is comical till now for Chelsea. Lukaku, kounde, dembele,Dumfries and don't know how much Werner, pulisic and ziyech wants to remain in this team. If not be careful we will slip into One of europa league spot fighting team.

The window has only been open a couple of weeks and both clubs (especially Chelsea) have undergone big changes, there's no need to rush into anything.

I don't think either club have missed out on anyone they were actually in for.

Who are Chelsea in for in this window? Other than the long standing interest in Kounde and Dembele on a free haven't seen anything else for them?

Said it in the players thread but surprised Chelsea weren't involved in Nunez if Lukaku is off

Lots of links to Sterling and Jesus.

Also every central defender in the world.
