Chelsea 2025-26 - Worldwide losingest team of the 2025-26 season

In case anyone wasn't aware of the astonishing ineptitude of the Chelsea board, here's an example of it: Chelsea haven't had a shirt sponsor since 2023 because the board wants to hold out for the best possible deal. Even after winning the CWC, they apparently felt like it was better to wait and see if their fortunes would improve further and get them such a lucrative offer as to compensate for going so long with no sponsor at all. Of course, with their current situation being what it is, they're not likely to get even a halfway decent offer anytime soon, so now they'll either have to take a much worse deal than what they could have landed after the CWC, or keep going without a sponsor and get nothing.

They have a shirt sponsor now, a stop gap til they get a long term one.

Did you not see the Man United v Chelsea game a few days ago? The shirt sponsor is an AI firm called "IFS.ai".

I guess "astonishing ineptitude" isn't limited to the Chelsea owners.

I mean, they didn't have a pre season. Everyone said this would happen (because of the club world cup) and now that it has happened people are giving it the shocked Pikachu face when a player says they're tired. For all the money spent, our prem squad isn't bigger than anyone else's.

That Chalobah interview was a rough watch for sure but I didn't see it as being deflective at all, he's just gutted and can't explain why we're going so crap.
You’ll be summer of 2025 world champs forever though. No one can ever take that away.

Can't blame Iraola, he's seeing bums getting millions for just turning up, he wants his share. Terzic won't last long at Bilbao and he will always be first in line when he wants the job.

First clean sheet since January. Great first half, middling second half. Good defensive effort.

I think you’ve got a good chance of winning the final, especially if you set up on the counter. City are complaining of fatigue but they’re fighting for the league and can’t afford to rest players.

I feel optimistic after what I saw today, but I have to remind myself it was Leeds. A decent prem team in good form but we haven't beaten City in any game since the 2021 CL final.

In the FA Cup Chelsea have faced Charlton, Hull, Wrexham, Port Vale and Leeds.

Has any team ever had an easier run to the final?

Chelsea 2021/22 has to be a contender: Chesterfield (NL), Plymouth (L1), Luton (Ch), Middlesbrough (Ch), Crystal Palace (PL)

Yeah, Arsenal this season. They just failed to get beyond the QF.

Portsmouth, Wigan, Mansfield and Southampton.

No prem team, and I think Southampton were the only team they faced that were top 10 in their division when they played them.

Not really a run to the final then.

Well obviously, but I've broadened the point to include easy runs in general to highlight how incredibly kind Arsenal's draw has been to them this season.

Then the answer to the question would still be no. Though Arsenal fecking up a fairly easy run to that point does remain funny.

Okay sorry. I'll keep to the specific parameters of any questions anyone ever asks from now on. Apologies sir.

Should have kept KDH...didn't realise how good he is. He's been in top form for us. Cheers Chelsea.

He's good but nah. He should have gone straight to Everton. He was never getting regular starts at Chelsea, and he wasn't good when he was given chances to start or come off the bench.

What is going on with Mudryk? He hasn't played for 18 months(?) and there has still been no decision as to whether he will be officially banned?
Ben Jacobs reporting he has been given a four year ban

Cheers. It is absolutely crazy that if that ban started today and wasn't shortened, he would still have a year left on his contract when it ended.

He's appealing it and the case will go before CAS.

Even if upheld, it surely has to include time served as he's effectively been banned since 2024.

I'm just glad the club are supporting him. I agree on the time served, but anti doping regulators can be a little extreme on occasion.

Shame that. Derry looked to be the only Chelsea player with a drive in this game. Hope he recovers fast.

So officially out of the CL for next season. Is it better or worse for them to be out of Europe altogether with regards to their huge squad?
