The charges relate to secret payments made between 2011 and 2018. That is a fecking long time that clearly shows the club was blatantly cheating for a long period. I realise the new owners are fessing up but seems like you are being allowed to move on a little too easily.
Suspended sanctions don't make sense in football. Did you break the rules ? Yes ? Here is your punishment in full.

Seem to happen regularily with Chelsea.
We've had a transfer ban and probably funded (through all the fines) every single grass roots initiative in England for the past two decades.
Just say thank you and move on.

On the one hand, its probably easier to deal with that when you have like 40 players registered already.
On the other hand, its still a significant problem for them that they won't be able to improve the team next summer, which ordinarily one would imagine to be a critical one for the Alonso project (new manager in a new league typically gets a sense of his team and their strengths and weaknesses the first year, then tries to make transfers to solve problems and go to the next level).
These days? This for stuff done going as far back as 17 years ago.

That's how I understand it too. Summer 27 and winter 28 windows they will be banned from new registrations.
The transfer ban only activates if Chelsea commit further financial rule breaches. What Ben Jacobs is saying is the suspended transfer ban hangs over Chelsea's heads until June 2027 at which point it expires, if there no further breaches. That's how I've understood it.

That's not what it means. It means if they break the rules again between now and summer 27 then the suspended sentence/punishment will be enforced.
Not correct. It is a suspended registration ban - so only comes into effect if there are further breaches (in addition to the suspended points deduction and whatever separate punishment an additional breach would carry)

Interesting. They way he wrote it infers that they wouldn't get to register players for two windows from 27 onwards and the suspended bit referred to no suspension bans right now until 27.
His wording is correct; a suspended ban means that it doesn't go into effect unless there are additional offenses in the time window mentioned.
