We aren’t competing with Arsenal or City with this midfield. Simple as that.
We’ll have a much more fun season than last time out, we’ll score a lot of goals, be very competitive, etc. but we aren’t pushing the top 2 in any serious way now.

If Lavia stays fit then a midfield of him and Caicedo will be better than anything we've had in years. Lavia is a Rolls Royce of a player in the 3 weeks of the season he's fit. I'm delighted with our midfield situation.

Suddenly Chelsea midfield looks really thin. Caicedo, an injury prone Lavia, Barco and Henderson. Thats about it. Maybe Alonso will play Reece James there or Malo Gusto.

People will call this clever like the billionaire tax dodging but it is straight up cheating and should be looked at a case by case basis by the premier league. Sports should have some semblance of fairness.

It would have taught City a lesson for trying to take the piss making a bid on the final day leaving the selling club no time to get a replacement. Maybe you can say Chelsea have got unlucky for it to fall through but this is the risk when you're leaving things till the last minute.

If Neto continued to perform that good in wing back role in attack I think Alonso may put palestra in midfield if needed. He is equally good in both feet, has pace and a proper unit to have in midfield. Alonso have options especially without europe we will be fine overall in my opinion.

Enzo asked not to play and to leave, him rotting in the reserves until January wouldn't help anyone.
The mistake was BlueCo being deluded enough to think they can force him to stay, the ridiculous early deadline and not signing a replacement well in advance.

This is what I'm like with our attack. Havertz, Saka, & Odegaard being fit and on form is like 3 new signings, Tzolis can do a job, Eze will get more game time left this season, it's totally fine we've lost Jesus, Martinelli, Trossard and loaned Nwaneri and replaced them with 1 signing.

Chelsea remind me of us last season. 1 proper midfielder, but no Europe. Also expecting lots of goals at either end and we had the most goals in our games last season as well.

If Lavia can stay healthy, big if I know, then we just might be alright. It feels like the longest continuous period he's been fit and available for us, through preseason and first 3 games of the season. We needed Camara because pinning your hopes on Lavia's fitness seems crazy. But on paper, a Caicedo Lavia midfield has always been more balanced than a Caicedo Enzo midfield. There's also Barco. He seems very talented, maybe he gets more trust as the season unfolds.
And anyone with a couple of braincells.
You can support a club and have the lucidity to see them for what they are.
