21 year old who signed for Stuttgart from Real Madrid last summer and by all accounts had a very good season in the Bundesliga. Signed for a small fee, but Real have a buy-back and a 50% sell-on. Mourinho attended the German Cup final (vs Bayern) but the latest rumours are that Real won't activate the buy-back clause given they are chasing Rodri.

He clocked around 2000 minutes of match time for Stuttgart across 39 matches.

I thought it was in order to have a thread on him in the football forum, since the only other thread is in the transfer forum and locked.
 
I've seen posters on here say he's quality and could be an option for us, I never seen him play live but watched few YT clips, he looks good, but not sure if he is even anywhere near ready
 
If he's the real deal, would love another left-field signing (after Santos).
 
There’s this new-ish poster who sold me on this one (sorry man, i forgot your username). He has impressive stats for young player, and his videoclips are even more impressive.

He’d be an astute 3rd CM signing instead of Baleba, imho. If the price is right.

Unbelievable that they got him for 23m. Next 100m midfielder saga is surely this guy or Sangare.

To be fair, Brighton are a great club nowadays to go to and develop, especially as an industrious midfielder. They're the Dortmund of the UK, no doubt Chema Andres will go for £120m+ in a few years, but too raw to take a punt for top clubs now I'd say.
 
This guy is a really good player. Great value signing.

You have that twat Andy Mitten shitting on Brighton because they used to have a small fan base or stadium.

Should take a look at them to see how to properly run a football club.
 
Fantastic bit of business for them. Really interested to see how he adjusts to the league.

Feck that, everyone should have known about this. It is frankly unreal that we sign Tielemans at 29 to a 5 year contract and spend 50m on Santos while Tony fecking Bloom gets another “feather in his cap”.

Beyond pissed off about this.
 
Let’s watch him kick a ball in the PL before lauding Brighton once again.

It’s a nice club away from the pressures of a being a top team, so it’s a great place for young talent to go.

But with all these signings…time will tell if he can cut it in the league.
 
I'm a big fan of the guy, but people need to be realistic. He's still way too raw to start for us, we wouldn't be able to give him the time to grow that Brighton will.

I would've like to sign him, but he's clearly not an alternative to Tielemans who can come straight into the first XI

Exactly. When we do our next Midfield rebuild in 3 years, let's revisit
 
What's so great about him? The few times I watched Stuttgart games he was on the bench. How good is Atakan Karazor then if he benched this world-beater. Probably should have signed him!

How good is Santos if he can’t get a game for Chelsea? Apparently so good that he costs 50m.

Agreed with both these posts. He’s clearly highly rated but there’s no guarantee he’ll be a success in this league - albeit Brighton seems to have a good eye for a midfielder. All that being said (& I know we all love how the likes of Brighton and Brentford etc are run)….dont they also sign their fair share of duds? Good decision by the player though. Almost a perfect club for him to continue his development.

Well, he was behind Caicedo and Enzo, who are pretty good. But what does that have to do with Santos really?

Santos got 43 games at Chelsea last season competing with 2 100M midfielders in Enzo and Caicedo. Just because you are pissed off we didn't sign the trendy kid that Brighton did is no reason to shit on our own players.

Maybe Atakan Kazazor played because they were selling Chema and didn't want to risk injury?

Chema is very talented and has potential to get even better. Wish we bought him.

They weren't even hidden gems, people on here were banging the drum for both all summer. If they smash it questions will be asked

But tbf we signed Santos for double the price who is too raw to start for us and seems to lack the required ceiling

We don't know what targets were actually considered. Sangere and Chema both could have been put forward, only for whoever makes the final decision to say no. We just dont know.

Rumours about that Vivell did suggest Sangere and a few others we didn't sign. But just rumours.

I was talking about last season. And the reason he didn't start was simply because he wasn't as good as someone I'd personally never heard of (I had to Google his name). Which is okay, he's a young guy. I just don't understand how a guy who couldn't start for a worse team in a worse league could in any way be a good signing for us?
 
The grass is greener bunch out in full force again.

He's the opposite of Baleba in terms of mobility and athleticism.

What Santos did for Strasbourg (while being 20) was far more impressive than anything Chema has done so far. In a league that translates better to the EPL than the Bundesliga.
