I thought he looked good in his hold up play in that second half. The commentators said he'd been working hard at his out of possession game with great results. Is it possible that he'll stay at the club and be part of the first team squad this season?

I don't think we should go for just any backup striker. I'd take Welbeck for a season or two without question, but I wouldn't take someone Sesko's age whose development would be curtailed by playing second fiddle, and with Obi at the club we're hardly getting a younger striker in.

But it would do nicely to get in an experienced backup striker.

I wonder where did this "if we have one striker we like, the second striker may not compete with them, has to be either somebody old or otherwise less" mentality come from. It's not like Sesko is Haaland's second coming, and even if he was... When we used to win things we always had ton of options and top players competing for positions. Now fans are restraining themselves to curtail ambition.

As for Chido... I think he needs a good loan spell, preferrably in Championship. If it is successful he can come back in a year, otherwise it will be time to sell

Agreed. Looked like he'd really worked on pinning, then rolling his defender and sweeping the ball out of wide.

I can see that being the making of him.

Ageee with the others about his hold up play. I think that was instrumental in 2 goals.

He is only 18 and the Championship is a tough league.
I would say if he could get in with a good footballing League 1 side and get good minutes there it would be a good stepping stone for the Championship in the following season.
At the ripe old age of 20 he would have had two seasons of men's football and we will have a good idea of where he is at.

Extremely well said. I like what sesko did a lot but he also did very well off the bench. Our second striker shouldn’t be some mediocre option. If we want to be at the top we need another top guy in the center

He will be 19 in November, and he's played some Premiership games in 24/25 season when he was even younger... I don't know what his physical condition is, but Championship loan doesn't feel out of question, if he wants to make it to the senior team any time soon. Loaning to some crap team in crap league has never worked for our young players

His hold up play, first touch and closing down were night and day from what we saw when he first came through. I love seeing such visible improvement.

I'd like to see him get good minutes against the likes of PSG and Atletico.

When he first broke through under Amorim, he looked incredibly raw. He could score goals but his overall game play really needed improvement to play senior level football. Over the last year or so, he's improved quite a bit in that perspective. He's now as effective as he was efficient (although his efficiency seems to have taken a knock). That half really summed his improvement up. I'm quite excited at what he will offer this season.

I think he would benefit from a loan move to the Championship.

Get some first team football under his belt.

He looks even taller than this to me now. I reckon he's still growing or at least has been the past 12 months. After he is at max height he will likely fill out a bit more. He will be a physical monster in a year or two. I wont pretend to know what's best for him at this stage of his development, I just hope the club know what they're doing. This guy will be a very good striker before long.

It’s nice to see some recognising the effort put in by the young man to improve aspects of his game than the narrative I felt was surfacing last season that he was just big and lazy or some sort of flat track bully.

Be curious to see him against some of the better opposition in pre season but agree that he will probably be loaned as he looks like me might be ready for the next challenge. Maybe at Christmas as I feel the club may want him for Champs Youth League.

It's not just upfront, we have fans doing it all over pitch. We can't sign anyone who will take Mainoo's place has been parroted quite a few times this summer. We should always want the best players in positions who will compete with each other. Not first team players who are guaranteed their spot with average players behind them

Yeah, my thoughts exactly

The only player I would feel bad for is any #10 signing because Bruno is a unique player who is
1. Never injured
2. Never replaced

There is nobody like him. And even for him I think "never replaced" is a wrong tactic, even if he is super human that is always fit. Nobody else is superhuman like him, so makes zero sense for other positions

Is there a reason he wasn't in the squad for today's game (from scan I did of the result)?

Please don’t jinx him.
