A bit harsh sacking him, did the best job he could. If it secures the clubs future I guess that's the most important.

To all these fans who keep banging on about their fans winding us up in 2012, grow up, you don't realise how sad you look. That was a long time ago now, they would've done that regardless of the opponent.

It's almost like the karma of covering up for Adam Johnson has came back to haunt them...

He'll get another Championship job, lower Premier League half job however, not so sure.
No doubt. To be honest though it looked like the daddy of all poisoned chalices the Sunderland job probably won't do Coleman any harm. He's had to eat shit in the media and from the fans for a bit, but he'll have got a nice payoff and no-one really expected him to turn around such a shit show anyway. If he had have done he'd be a managerial magician, but even now he's failed no-one who matters thinks any the worse of him, just like Moyes.

Club is in a mess, to think Jack Rodwell was once high on our list of players we wanted. A career that promised so much yet has delivered so little. Not sure if it was injuries, too much hype at an early stage, or whether he just wasn't as good as people thought he could become. He was always a player touted to be great without every actually being it.Coleman will bounce back, I don't think this will derail him too much. I could see him doing a job like Dyche or Howe at the right club.

Pretty sure he was the manager when they were relegated with just 11 points to their name.
He had a 19 point season and a 15 point season with them. The 19 point season he took over with 10 games left and lost every one. The 15 point season he only got about 9 points before he was sacked.

But in fairness to McCarthy, the club was in as big as mess as it was now. Think he'll do well. Quote me.

Please dont quote me

Imagine having to leave Sunderland. She must be distraught and completely broken.

Sunderland were a mess though. His stock was sky high after leaving Wales. Maybe a PL job was unlikely, but a decent Championship outfit surely would have taken a punt on him.

He loves money it seems. Surely could have got a PL job if he really wanted.

Who the heck is gonna hire him this summer? He’s just got Sunderland relegated to L1.

His career besides Wales is a complete mess.

With some of the terrible old boys that get PL jobs over and over again near the bottom of the table, I don't think Chris Coleman getting a chance is that much of a leap.

Obertans #1 fan.
Some of the people saying “he got Sunderland relegated to league one” really are bizarre. Do people not put things into context whatsoever? A good manager can get a team relegated. Sunderland had no chance.

So there wasn’t a manager capable of keeping Sunderland in championship this past season? Im not having that.

He did great with Wales but he’s been a complete failure at club level.

Chris Coleman? Get a PL job? Maybe selling programmes outside on a matchday but certainly not as a manager.
Yeah the PL is a different animal now. Not going to see the likes of Coleman getting a job (bar maybe a caretaker position).

Still think he's a nob for going to China mind.

The PL might be a different animal now, but we all know the usual suspects will be hoovering up jobs next season when chairmen press the panic button.

No chance.

He is another Lawrie Sanchez, he will fail in this new job and that will be him done.

Long while ago but he did o.k at Fulham, kept them top half despite having to sell likes of Boa Morte, Malbranque, Saha.

Wierd career moves since leaving Wales though.

Klopp was lucky to ever work again after relegating Mainz. Disgraceful really, should have never been given another chance.
Benitez, Conte and Wenger also have relegations on their CVs.

Always surprised my how little his Fulham work has always been rated.

This could only happen to Sunderland. They got relegated from the Premiership, so pitched a idea for a Netflix documentary about the redemption of them going back up. And what they got was a film about them being relegated to League 1. Amazing.

Most amusing thing is they're doing a follow up on this season (although it's going well.....so far).

Don't bother with Netflix but assume these pop up on YT after a period of time.
