Obertans #1 fan.
Over 100+ appearances for the club.

Great to see him grab a goal yesterday in his last game.

Thought he was a great lad overall, obviously the best moment is the fact he was with us at all after the disastrous moment at the World Cup.

Edit: the Euros!

Any moments stand out for you reds?

The fist time he played for us. The fact that he came back after that WC with an implanted defibrillator and has won two cups in EPL for Manchester United is something special. Great lad, shame we did not sign him earlier. He ended up here only because players are not allowed to play with an implanted defibrillator in the italian legue.

What a player, and seems a really good bloke.

I'm a fan and glad he played for us. It's just a massive pity it wasn't 12 years ago.

Not that it matters but his major incident was at the Euros 2020 (in 2021) and not the WC.

The guy seems cool. Wish him the best.

Very likeable sort of player who was a model pro and an excellent passer. As others have said, it's a pity we didn't have him earlier in his career. Even though it was a loss, his first game was the one I'll remember most. Joining from Brentford after what looked like a career ending medical incident, he proved he still has it at the top level with some excellent touches.

At the Euros… And he scored in the following Euros, as a United player.

Might still be our best free kick taker. And while his legs may have gone he has the heart of ten men.

The first game he played for us. Was very weird to have a midfielder who got on the ball and passed it around a bit. A brief reminder of what a united midfielder should look like.

I wish him the best. It's a shame what happened to him because as technically gifted as he is, his legs were just gone.

Had moments of brilliance.

In terms of understanding the game and making good choices on the ball, he put everyone else to shame - it's just sad Spurs of all clubs saw his pomp when he had the period of 4 seasons in a row hitting 20 G+A in the PL. Was a great free transfer in hindsight.

The 3-1 v Arse in his first season. He played a simple but brilliant forward for the first and second goals and the run and assist for the third. Probably my favourite game of his.

Still hasn't signed with a new club. I find it a bit strange, because he can definitely still do a job in a smaller league and he has always been a model pro. I also think he is interested in staying relevant for the national team.

Could he still do a job for us? I'm sure we could sign him on a little two-year deal. Let's see who bites...

Same with Lindelof. There's been so many times in the last 10 years where we've released a player and they've just gone without a club.

I loved his pass for Amad v Southampton second goal, when Amad scored a hat trick. Such a class assist.

Surprised he hasn't rocked up at Ajax yet.

Lindelof not getting a club is a surprise. He's not good enough for the top Prem teams but he'd still be a handy player in most leagues at some level. Nice bloke and multilingual too, maybe he's just asking for too much money.

He'll probably find a club as the window closes. Wouldn't be surprised if he's looking for his last chance to get his cash. I feel like he'll end up in some lower table team here. If not he could probably go to some decent teams in Italy or Spain

Wrexham sniffing around

He left Italy because you can't play in the league with an ICD...so Italy is off the menu for him!

I’d be massively surprised if a premier league team picked him up. Teams can’t carry that kind of physicality in midfield any more, regardless of how well he can pick a pass.

Not all teams have creativity. You only need him for maybe 45 minutes. Burnley, Sunderland, Leeds (god forbid), all could do well with him.

But I mostly think he wants to play regularly so he can be in the World Cup.

I don’t think that’s how teams are looking to play anymore, but someone might be desperate enough. I thought he stayed here at least a year too long.

I don’t know who they have in his position but my thought when he left was he’d end up at one of Galatasaray, Fenerbache or Besiktas.

He was always the player I dreamed of us signing when he was in his prime Spurs days. I was always jealous they had him.

We signed him way too late.

On the verge of signing for Wolfsburg according to Danish media. Good move for him, I think, but a bit weird it has taken so long.

Good player, but should have been signed as a stop-gap/cover for that position really. He is not a true CM and, although he did a great job for a while, we should have signed a true classy CM to take us forward with him rotating between that role and the 10 as Bruno backup.

Either way, glad to see him do what he has done since that horrible incident and I hope he continues until he retires when he is ready.

Good luck to him at Wolfsburg. Lovely player and often a joy to watch. Shame that idiot Andy Carroll gave him that nasty injury.

Probably to wait till the end of the window to assess his options and find a best fit for him.

He’s not going to want to go to a club and sit on the bench.

I think he'll tear it up in the Bundesliga - he's got great passing range and vision that won't leave him with age.

Two substitute moments come to mind in his United career: first was extra time in the FA cup tie against Liverpool when he came on and just pulled the strings instantly, and if I remember correctly put Rashford clean through on goal a couple of times. Second was that lovely ball over the top for Amad against Southampton; again he changed the game when he came on.
