He's sitting at brentford without any offer from other clubs and is acting cocky demanding utd sign quality players first.

How is he affected if we sign or not ? Its not like he's has a chance of winning the title with brentford and therefore joining us might put that into jeopardy.

Not the right attitude.
He will have countless offers. In fact, I can guarantee most teams in the Premiership would welcome him into their squad. He's not acting cocky if anything he's just taking time and assessing his next move for himself and his family after nearly dying during Euros. Most importantly are we really that naive to believe whatever is written, however stupid?

We tend to blindly believe anything negative here at the CAF, you know that

So he's waiting to see if we sign Tyrell Malacia before he joins us? Sounds legit! I swear these journos can make up anything they like and they'll still recieve good engagement from fans.

After what he's been through he is perfectly entitled to make sure everything is right for himself and his family.
He has a great attitude and I really hope he chooses here, but if not I wish him all the best. There is more to life than just football.

Would be odd that that's what would sway him
That twitter account went down a level in my eyes. How can someone with a blue tick logo whose job is to tweet about United believe such a crap?

People are taking this wayyyy too seriously. It’s more of a case what we sign rather than who we sign in my opinion.

Aka: are we improving, what positions are we reinforcing, will those reinforcements help United challenge for the title/trophies?

Because if not, why go to United and have that extra stress it you’re not going to at least challenge. When you can go to Brentford and just play football and be in the middle of the park on easy street.

Stop taking things at face value.

It’s just an aggregator which is in partnership with SportBible. The article is basically an aggregator article where it’s pulling it’s info from Daily Mirror. - which if you’d read the article, they cite as their source

Maybe because its Uniteds decision and not his. As in United only want him if they can wrap up those deals. Otherwise there are other targets.

If we are to believe the media there are only 2 clubs bidding for Eriksen and it's about squad quality and trophies then the answer is obvious.

Oh yeah no doubt he's a brilliant player. I'm not really sure what point I was making to be honest.
I dare say we'd be horrified at how dim a lot of these players we wrap up all our hopes in are.

I've seen Lingard starting a tiktok account up and doing loads of dances.
I know I'm not his target market, but who the hell is.

That he's waiting for a club who provide both of those to enter the fray? :wenger:

Puts a new emphasis onto the "waiting to see what transfers happen" story doesn't it.

I would have thought he'd have now made a decision and started pre-season training with his new club.

My thoughts as well. Surely if he doesn't like the 2 offers on the table, his agent should have sounded out other potential clubs by now to gauge any interest. But there does not seem to be any other reported interested in him (or at least not concrete ones)

I'd be amazed if we didn't hear news on this tomorrow or Tuesday at the latest.

His Brentford contract officially expired on Thursday, there's no reason for him not to make a decision now.

Yep lost a bit of confidence in this one happening as time passes (although that's nothing new for me!). But if it is to be us, surely he's on the plane for the tour on Friday.

Any ideas why this is taking so long? Don't mind one way or the other what decision is, but would like for us to be able to get in our alternatives if he isn't interested.

Would be lovely if both us and brentford retract our offers and sign someone else.

Ponder on that chris.

Would love for this one to happen along with Frenkie De Jong. Craving the taste of proper midfielders. It's been a while.

well not sure about the story at United but our players who played in the post season internationals aren’t due back till Thursday and imagine it’s similar at United so he still has time….

If he hasn't made up his mind by the start of the pre season tour he obviously isn't arsed about joining. Mind you he should be eager to get started with pre season no matter which club he's joining, so we should hear something this week

Back tomorrow for our lot. We fly out for tour on Friday so imagine it’s before then or unlikely to happen for us.

Yep. Last year our pre-season was complete mess because players were late. Some because of Euro, some got extra free time and some were bought late. Fans defended those players with "players deserve vacation".
And our season showed what happens with that attitude.

I’m a negative bastard and a lot on here have cottoned on to that, quite rightly

But I think Eriksen will sign for United, on Tuesday

The fact this is taking so long would suggest we probably aren't offering him guaranteed first team football. I can't for the life of me believe he'd be taking this long to decide between us and Brentford otherwise.

I don't think Eriksen is suited to a midfield two either and I still think Bruno will be our main number 10. Eriksen will still get lots of starts for sure but I doubt he's going to be in the team every week.

Personally think it's the opposite
Some people think we can have a midfield of FDJ, Eriksen and Bruno and be competitive. We would get beat off every top half PL team. Nowhere near solid enough even if they are all good footballers in their own right.

Eriksen will be a squad player for us. He will be first choice for Brentford. Probably why he's taking his time.

Oh there is no doubt that midfield needs an enforcer but the links to one seem non existent
