I'm actually really surprised. I wanted us to go in for him on a free (before we had Bruno) when it was clear that he was leaving Spurs. He's not even that old, wonder what happened.
Being dedicated is a flaw, he should've half-arsed it instead. He also ran himself into the ground for not much money at Spurs. I would've got a new contract at least or moved but he seemed determined to run it down and make a move to Italy and that quickly went to crap over there. Strange player and situation.
I'd take him back, depending on fee and wages involved, if he was willing to admit his previous attitude problem and commit to turning it around. There's a still a class player in there somewhere. No thanks.
There wasn't much of an attitude problem in the early years under Poch. I just thought like many of the squad he felt CL defeat was end of an era and wanted to leave straight after the match but Spurs didn't want to sell, motivation levels went down (same for the manager) and then had to scramble him out last January just to get some cash.I'd take him back, depending on fee and wages involved, if he was willing to admit his previous attitude problem and commit to turning it around. Bale came back, following a bigger rift than occurred with Eriksen. So never say never IMO.He won't come back to Spurs because he made it quite clear that he wanted a change don't forget he was with us for 6 years. The ship and sailed and all parties have moved on.
Eriksen thought the likes of Real Madrid or Barca would be in for him. They weren't. And now he's discovered that the grass is not actually greener away from Spurs. There wasn't much of an attitude problem in the early years under Poch. Pretty much it, probably lucky he didn't get the more to Real he would have been ripped to shreds by their fans, dont want him back mind you.Eriksen thought the likes of Real Madrid or Barca would be in for him. He was feeding Giroud and Co. Now he has Lacazette and Aubamayeng ahead of him. Arsenal have shot themselves in the foot with thier pro-china/genocide stance. In short term Ozil would help a bit but he was regular in the later Wenger seasons when they weren't finishing top 4 (and still regular in the Emery season finishing 5th) so doubt he'd get them back in top 4.
Bale has come back after 7 years away from Tottenham. Eriksen has only been away for a year I doubt he would come back this soon.Bale came back, following a bigger rift than occurred with Eriksen. So never say never IMO.
lolok there’s so much ignorance in the last statement, just educate yourself pleaseHe was feeding Giroud and Co. Now he has Lacazette and Aubamayeng ahead of him. Arsenal have shot themselves in the foot with thier pro-china/genocide stance.
Sorry - if mentioning the Chinese genocide of the Uighyrs offends you then you are part of the problem. The issue is widely documented and has been internationally condemned.lolok there’s so much ignorance in the last statement, just educate yourself please
Yeah, I think this has a lot to do with it. He has played a truly enormous number of games - he's just 28 and he's made 499(!) senior appearances at the club level and 103(!!!) for his country. Given his style of play and how much he runs every match, he's probably more comparable to many 30-32 year olds and probably on the backside of his career now.Guy literally can't run anymore. His last month's at Spur's were shocking it was like he gave up long before his move to Inter.
Thinking about the amount of games he played for us (he's pretty much played full seasons since 18 years old) He was also on the top of the distance chart's which showed he was always the hardest working player on the pitch.
Plain and simple he's ran himself into the ground and he's burnt himself out at the age of 28 years old... The age where he should be hitting is prime
100 caps for the NT only aged 28 is alot.
Not a position we need. Basically have Bruno, Pogba and VDB there.Linked to United (albeit by not so reliable sources) for free in January. Would you want him? Squad back up?
Exactly hat I thought, click bait article. We will be linked with every man and his dog over the coming weeks irrespective of position. Not a position we need. Basically have Bruno, Pogba and VDB there.

So he has asked to be transferred again? Will certainly be interested to see where he settles, Spain next probably. If he cant get back on form in Italy where he should have much more time I feel its the player and not the environment that's the problem.Tweet

Diddums. He also ran himself into the ground for not much money at Spurs. I would've got a new contract at least or moved but he seemed determined to run it down and make a move to Italy and that quickly went to crap over there. Strange player and situation.
Eriksen was consistently one of the hardest working players in Spurs when he was there. The distance he covered was always one of the highest each match.Technically good players out there who are not willing to work hard are quite a lot out there. Important thing is to find players who are willing to work defensively as well. We found a good one with Bruno. Perhaps VdB will show his class too. The attitude is important. Too many players switching off throughout the game and season. Look at Fred, if everyone had his workrate and lungs we would be sitting top very soon.
Shame about players like Pogba or Martial can´t just push themselves a bit more. Talent won´t cut it anymore unless you have a team working hard enough for you. Pressing is very important in the current game. Smaller teams who have money filling teams with players with good quality and attitude, with progressive young managers trying to build TEAMS..
Eriksen maybe if he drops a level he can go to a team where he can do his stuff but premier league is certainly too fast rtain he will struggle to get on now, especially at the top level
What do you think they are then?.There are problems with Eriksen
He wasnt anywhere nearly as effective in the last 18 months there though - 3 years ago he was excellent - I just can not see him reaching those levels again unless he is allowed to stroll around more with less defensive responsibilities....Eriksen was consistently one of the hardest working players in Spurs when he was there. The distance he covered was always one of the highest each match.
Correct. We need to stick to our transfer strategy - we shouldn't sign him until he's at least 34 and coming back from major knee surgery. We don’t need him and to use that awful phrase, he’s trending in the wrong direction. Let him be someone else’s problem.
Probably playing a lot from a young age and possibly not kept himself in the best shape he could? These thing's happen look at Rooney when he started to decline at like 30 year's old?Strange I remember not long ago he is still among the top 3 midfielder in Premierleague, probably only behind De Bruyne. How comes he is struggling so bad in Italy now, when the likes of Lukaku and 39 year old Ibra etc are having fun over there.
Cynicism isn’t cool, Mike. #BelieveCorrect. We need to stick to our transfer strategy - we shouldn't sign him until he's at least 34 and coming back from major knee surgery.
