Christopher Nkunku | AC Milan agree £36m deal

Never once watched him and thought I’d like to see him in a United shirt. I’m calling BS in this because we will want cash for Garnacho, no a crock.
 
Of course we are getting another ten after Cunha, Mbeumo, Bruno, Zirkzee, Mount, Mainoo. L'Equipe is full of lies.

Football fans have a habit of holding onto a player's potential for far too long.

People are still thinking Rashford and Mount could be the player they were years ago. Grealish. Reece James. Sterling up until very recently.

At some point you have to just accept players are past their best due to injury, time, age, motivation etc. and they're never getting their old self back.

It would be a miracle if Nkunku turned this around in the PL after being injured and crap for 2 years straight.

I don’t think it’s potential in his case. He has shown he can perform at the very highest level. He got a bad injury, but then he hasn’t had a proper run in the team. Only 900 minutes in the Prem last season.

With a run in the team, I think he could do very well and give us some real quality at a discount, especially if it allows us to sell Garnacho for more on the books.

Nkunku is just never going to be valued the same as Garna. We could both inflate both fees to help us, but there's just no chance they're valued the same.

I bet when Chelsea signed him, the posts would have been full of, 'great signing', 'why aren't we in for him' etc

He'd flop here if we took him, but you just know he'll end up at Juve, Napoli or somewhere and tear it up.

A few years ago this would have excited me. But he's 28 this year, injury prone, and has clearly struggled to make anything click in the PL. His best days look behind him, it would be appalling business.
 
I mean it's more likely that Chelsea have proposed something like this, probably as a backup to Gittens falling through. I doubt United have made the first move here.

There's a world where I'd sell Garnacho to Chelsea and take a player or two in exchange, but Nkunku wouldn't be one of them. I'm also not expecting one of their stars to come the other way, but they have so many players there's bound to be a few who won't see much game time there but would definitely at United.

He is our only chance at a serious cash injection. Chelsea would have to throw 40m on top for the exchange to make sense for us.
 
Think nkunki would be pretty fine in one of the no10 positions tbh..
 
I would take 40m cash plus a CM or RWB. Chelsea has too many players, there is surely a few good young players looking for game time.
 
I trust the new regime to not sign an underperforming crock from Chelsea
 
There's a lot of potentially gettable Chelsea players I'd be interested in before I got to Nkunku.

Lavia and Andrey Santos of course. Colwill (unlikely) or Chalobah would be good in a back 3. Petrovic is a talented keeper. Even Nicolas Jackson has plenty of upside.
 
Can't see this having any legs , surely even we are not naive enough to take him , he is injury prone and even when he is not injured he has been very underwhelming. Needs to a restart to his career outside of the premier league. Sounds like Chelsea trying to drum up interest in a player that nobody is showing interest in.
 
Another lackluster injury prone dumpster fire of a player they’re trying to pawn off on us. Tell them we’ll take Caicedo instead.
 
Loan with option and doesn't affect signing a number 9 would be the only acceptable terms for him
 
Did this play as a striker/False 9 when he was at RB or did he play off someone? I don't think this makes sense unless he is a stopgap for the striker position and comes on a loan.
 
No swap with Garnacho. But they can have pick of 2 of Sancho, Rashford and Onana.
 
The Athletic are talking about Nkunku to Utd. Lets hope we arent that stupid.

 
In his Leipzig days I'd have been well on board with this. But since he's come to England he got a long injury and couldn't even get into the conference league team.
 
For a 5m loan fee a la Sancho? Tempting.

Value in the market mate and our medical dept did keep perma-crock Maz fit.
 
He seems to get linked with us every window. Maybe at one point it might have been a decent get but not now. Only reason I could think we’d be linked with him now is incase we don’t get Mbeuno.

Although as other have pointed out, taking another perma injured player off of Chelsea is probably in some new guidelines at OT.
 
I hope Wilcox and Barrada will not sanction a move for a shit player like Nkunku from Chelsea, we already got one in Mount, not even for free let alone Garna going the other way.

Loan with an option to buy like everyone likes doing to us, i woudnt mind. An outright transfer is a hell no.

Garnacho is one of the most promising young attacking players around, already stacking up decent numbers in the toughest league in the world.
I don´t think Nkunku is quite as poor as some are making it in here but that would be a pretty poor swap from our side. We can add a few millions and go for Caicedo instead:)
