City and Financial Doping | Charged by PL with 130 FFP breaches | Hearing concluded | Awaiting outcome

They successfully binned Abramovich for not being a fit and proper owner. Don't see why they can't do the same here seeing as these bastards are seemingly involved in funding wars etc as well.

Because Russia were persona non grata when they did it. Abu Dhabi, considering their relationship with the UK government, might be a tad harder to get rid off politically.

Are there any signs of city's owners getting bored of the project, yet? Maybe bailing if found guilty? Or is that too much to hope for?
I’ve wondered this. They built the whole church for Guardiola to come and win the Champions League. Mission accomplished, now what? Because regardless of how they circumvent the rules, they are still throwing money away on City that they won’t make back. Sure, there’s ulterior motives, but they won’t keep doing that forever.

They got rid of RA because Russia invaded Ukraine, rather than anything to do being a fit and proper owner.

In contrast, the UK sell weapons to the UAE that are used in those wars you mention.

One war was "bad" , the other war is "good" .

I’d be happy with starting next season on -60 points. Almost basically guarantees relegation.

That’s at least 5 years without a title.
A 3 year transfer ban. ( can’t keep their players on the wages they’re on in the championship)
Stripped of all titles between the time in question.
I see a lot of people mentioning a transfer ban, if a points deduction is given and high enough to guarantee relegation then a transfer ban would not apply in the championship, the Premier League punishment only applies to the premier league, so in theory Man City could do a ruck load of business in the January before promotion and the Premier League would have to sanction the team on promotion with the signings in place.

I also see people saying the Prem cannot simply expel Man City on the ground that League 1 would not have to take them in, and this is true but as per Rangers they would just have to go back to the bottom of the triangle, means the Premier League would be a team short and would probably have to offer an addition place to a Championship team either immediately or at the end of next season, but for me expelling City from the competition is justified on the basis that they refused to co-operate with the investigation and actively obstructed it, this is a private members club, it is a league created by the clubs to make money, and for a club to decide they will not co-operate is for me well you are out then, simple as! where they end up is between them and the FA.

Make the transfer ban for 3-4 windows and any players bought in that period not eligible to play in the premier league until after it is finished. They should have to survive the championship with what they have already and youth team promotees. Or free transfers.

The big problem with transfer window bans is that they always seem to give them loads of notice, meaning the club simply whacks a load of signings in.

City will know when there's even the slightest whiff of a punishment too and will simply increase the spends now.

Didn’t they also sign that Brazilian centre back (same age or younger than Khusanov)? He wasn’t cheap.

Wait, UK sell weapons to UAE? Why don't you stop your government from selling weapons to UAE?

Per Wikipedia:

Winter 2026
Geuhi - £20 million
Semenyo - £64 million

Summer 2025
Donnarumma - £26 million
Trafford - £31 million
Nypan - £12.5 million
Reijnders - £46.3 million
Cherki - £34 million
Ait-Nouri - £31.8 million

Winter 2025
Gonzalez - £50 million
Bah - £5.1 million
Marmoush - £59 million
Reis - £29.6 million
Khusanov - £33.6 million

13 players signed in three windows (only one of which was a summer window) for £442.9 million.

They've spent more money than everyone else over the past three windows and signed more players than at least the rest of the "big six" plus Newcastle and Villa (I can't be arsed checking everyone else.

Closest in fees is Liverpool, who spent over £200 million on just two players, and closest in number of players signed is Chelsea, who appear to have left an AI in charge of transfers.

Most of them have flopped too.

Only Guehi, Semenyo,Cherki and Khusanov would be classed as a real success.

Yeah, they've certainly been preparing for a transfer ban, but probably not a relegation or two. Maybe Pep being still a likely candidate for England manager plays a part in things, but I suspect they think protecting the "brand" means not dealing with corruption, but sweeping it under the carpet. And yet, Southampton get done proper.

My guess would be:

- Transfer ban spanning five windows
- 40 point deduction with a further 20 point suspended for five years
- Retrospectively removal of some honours
Thats not enough. The scale of the accusations of cheating, covering up and not cooperating is massive.

Guehi a real success?

His error against Everton cost City the title and frequent indecision against Real Madrid their place in the CL.

Glad we didn't sign him.

And that's without even being close to this punishment coming.

His performances from January got them back in the title race.

He's been really good overall. You are pointing out his two worst moments.

He's one of the better defenders in the worst ever era for centre backs.
Certainly didn't give a second of concern of him going there.

their transfers over the last years have been ... let's say spotty, at best. I don't know if it's just Txiki leaving, but it has felt pretty scattergun for a while. Semenyo and Cherki are class, but otherwise, it's been a lot of "meh".

You seem to be excusing Guehis glaring errors and totally overlooking his lack of height and relatively small physique, major defects for a Premier League centre half.

He won't last long at City.

The mere fact of being found guilty will be a big blow to Abu Dhabi. It will seriously derail their reputation washing objectives. If it entails a relegation then I can’t see them sticking around.

Financial penalties will be completely useless in this scenario, they will pay whatever and everyone will just move on. Loss of prestige is what is most likely to see them move on.

Thats not enough. The scale of the accusations of cheating, covering up and not cooperating is massive.

A 40 point deduction would've relegated them this season. That would keep them out of CL for three seasons pretty much if not longer so that's as best a punishment as going to happen as zero chance they'll be demoted to north west counties league or be stripped of some of the titles they won.

Not that there’s a chance this will happen, but ultimately what sums them up is that the absolute worst punishment for them is forcing their owners to sell. There’s nothing about that club today that isn’t completely dependent on their owners playing real life Football Managers. Their best case scenario would be what’s happening at Chelsea right now, but is their brand big enough for someone like that loony yank at Chelsea to come in and buy them?

They would presumably front-load it rather than apply it to the season past. Might be why they won't announce anything until the second half of the summer to justify it applying to the 2026/27 season instead. Knock 40 points off City at the start they'll easily stay up.

There's no way they'd stay up with a 40 point deduction at the start of the season.

A demotivated squad with a new manager 75 points from safety? They'd be done for. They might do alright for a few months but the novelty would soon wear off and players would start thinking about moving clubs in the summer.

Watching them flounder for a whole season 30 points behind Coventry sounds hilarious so I hope it happens.

At this point if they were found guilty and given a point deduction its highly unlikely it would apply to next season as City would probably launch an appeal which then will take months to be heard and ruled on.

They can't be demoted as I understand it, only points deduction. I think it should be 60 points deduction, followed by a 40 point deduction the following season, then 20 point deduction the season after. Transfer ban. Owners banned. All titles during that period stripped and another investigation into the impact on the next period after the years which have been investigated.

If guilty, their whole current success has been built in a foundation of cheating. That cannot be allowed.

Seeing as it is now the off season, it'd be nice if the verdict was finally announced to potentially feck up their transfer plans.

Really? The psychological damage of being so far behind everyone would grind Man. City down e.g winning their first 5 games of the season and they'd still be on -25.

A -12 or -15 and they'd easily stay up as Everton did it in 23/24 but anything above -20 and it becomes tricky if they hit bad form over winter period.

It's alright saying the squad could get to 80 points but it's a lot different to doing it with everyone on 0 points. Would be a bit of a slow death for them which probably from what is realistic would be the best possible punishment for anyone wanting to see them suffer for what they've been up to last 15 years.

Imagine the psychological damage if they get a 20 point deduction and finish higher than us. That'd do some damage to me for sure.

They got 78 this season, so that’d make it 38. And 39 points was relegated. It’d be close.

Do it two hours before Norways first match and tag Haalands social media accounts.

I think the reputation damage to the PL is going to be far worse if they don't punish them heavily.

They're happy to dish out point deductions to other clubs yet when it comes to cheating on an unprecedented scale, it's a slap on the wrist?

The PL will make themselves look weak and submissive to the Abu Dhabi overlords, and the other clubs in the PL will be furious - especially the likes of Everton and Forest.

They need to throw the book at them.
Yeah just strip them of the PL titles and I could live without any transfer bans or points deductions

Guardiola’s last minute exit coincides with rumors coming out that a verdict announcement is imminent. Vids popping up on youtube as well.

From GiveMeSport:

‘Respected football insider Hand of Arsenal – who revealed that Guardiola would be leaving Manchester City, while also naming Enzo Maresca as his likely replacement 20 days before the Catalan confirmed his exit – has now claimed that the verdict for the Man City 115 charges case will be delivered in the next few weeks:

"It is my understanding, there is a seriously confident expectation now for a decision on the Man City 115 case to be delivered in the coming weeks ( sometime in the summer latest).
"All Premier League clubs await official communication."

This timeline also matches that of former Manchester City financial advisor Stefan Borson. He recently stated that 'it can’t take much longer', before adding: “As I understand it, there are no special reasons why it’s not come out. Nobody’s ill, nobody’s negotiating behind the scenes. There’s no secret sort of plans from government to intervene or any of that stuff. “It’s all actually very vanilla. The original panel just simply hasn’t finished writing it up or hadn’t as of a few weeks ago."

Borson concluded: “The parties themselves do expect that it will come out soon after the season ends." ‘
