I am wondering, at some point there is a chance that these things will be exposed/revealed by one or 2 of their own disgruntled players and it might ruin their reputation, isnt it/

I doubt the players would ever do something like that, for concern about affecting future prospects. Football is a very small, very closed circle. If one of these guys is short on money in the future they probably can show up at the club again and get a job as a coach or an ambassador or something like that, and the club would probably be willing to help them out, so there's no real reason to burn those bridges from a player's perspective

They would also be putting themselves in trouble with HMRC. That’s the beauty of the bond; it cannot be broken.

That and tax evasion is a serious crime.

The easiest means to pay extra monies off the pitch would be is to insert appearance-type clauses in contracts. Don't know if those count towards FFP or other league rules towards compensation against revenue. But they can easily offer a million here or there for a player to show up in UAE for an event, or a charity cause, or a friendly match of sorts, or whatever they desire.

If any compensation spelled out in a contract does go against FFP, they could offer off the books through club internal communications. Tell a player like Haaland to show up in a summer/winter event and collect your appearance from the organizer (who is likely linked directly to ADUG). Or, hey, we'll sign you to a separate endorsement/sponsorship with a company in UAE which you'll make a singular appearance annually.
 
Has anyone watched or read The Firm? Once you are part of it, thers’s no way out.
 
I think its clear at this point that they will be found guilty on some of the charges as there is no way that the Premier League spent a fortune investigating them for 5 years and didnt find sufficient evidence to prove them guilty of at least some of the charges that they are facing.

Yeah, i wouldn’t bet on it.

It wouldn’t even surprise me if they’ve had valid legal grounds to argue against co-operating and they can’t even get punished for that

If you’re found guilty of a decent number, and this compensation stands, pretty much, yeah. The compensation demanded by clubs like us, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea etc will run north of a billion. Only thing to do would be fold the club.

The only thing that would be funnier would be if it were Liverpool.
 
They’ll end up paying more for Elliot Anderson than what Vitinha and Neves cost PSG combined because it makes no difference to them if he flops and they have to sell him at half the price. It’s really no wonder nobody takes anything they do seriously.

They’ll probably sell him for more even if he flops. Look at Spurs reportedly being in for Savinho for £60m, having been bought for £30-35m and doing absolute feck all since signing.
 
Manchester City are currently having their Premier League case heard, with 115 alleged breaches of the rules.
The alleged breaches include not providing accurate financial information for nine different seasons.
As well as not providing full details of players’ remuneration over six seasons from 2010-11 to 2015-16, also not providing full details of manager Roberto Mancini’s pay over the four seasons he was at the club from 2009 to 2013.


This alone is enough.

Their case depends on not providing this type of info. One must then ask oneself: why?

Yes, those 3 are the worst culprits. I will support any club over those 3. But Man City probably cheated the best overall.

Especially as the Premier League have stated that any compensation paid will not count towards financial compliance (FFP, SCR etc). It won't make the slightest dent on their spending power.

The fact that they saying that means its gonna be a fine. Thats why they delaying it for as long as they can. Letting things cool down a bit. Makes people numb.
