They haven't won the league for two seasons and I think they'll decline further without Pep. Not got close to winning CL in last three seasons either with alright Madrid teams eliminating them with ease.

Had a look at Bluemoon forum after we played them on final day and many on there were unhappy they constantly now sign player from "mid table" prem sides (Anderson, Guehi, Matheus Nunes, Semenyo) so that run they had signings likes of Rodri and Haaland within 12 months has spoilt them I think.
 
So they and the chavs get to break the transfer market, get the players they want and thus cause a huge rise in all other players' value.
They're already getting away with it.
 
Can't believe we're going to have to endure another season with this shit still unresolved. Somebody needs to have a word with those judges. The way it's always dismissed as "oh they have other cases to work on". Well stop, and sort this first. Its a multi billion dollar industry not a Sunday pub league.

I honestly don't see what stops clubs like Newcastle from blatant financial doping themselves as it seems nothing ever gets done about it.

I don't really understand why some full timers couldn't be hired just working on this case.
 
Oh good, another season we keep fantasising about cheaters being brought to heel.

They are covering it up and dragging out the process to run down the clock. I expect zero real consequences, just a joke of a warning. They don't have the balls to take real action

It's the same story with UEFA: big clubs get away with murder. And even if they do get punished, the CAS in Lausanne always steps in to overturn the ruling and reduce the sanctions

It’s just an old boys' club, where dogs don't eat dogs. The whole thing is just a charade.

Honestly this shit is every bit as bad as Trump interfering in the World Cup. The league can't punish them without being vaporized by costly litigation, the British government have been lobbied by the regime and seemingly don't want any feathers ruffled. And they can't not punish them without losing all integrity. How can they conclude it, it must go on.

If it’s made apparent to the public enough, it might pressure government to pressure the PL to make some show of punishment to avoid allegations of corruption.

They gave other clubs point penalties for less… do nothing and they’re getting sued by a few clubs.

I'd argue it's way worse, in terms of overall impact on the sport (and particularly on football in England).
 
Is there a specific reason why this does not move forward at all? I mean it looks really bad for the biggest League in football
 
No one *really* cares. It's only very recently even sporadically mentioned on TV. I don't know how it's not the talk of everything to do with football, mentioned every time City is mentioned and protests over it. I think it's for these reasons they can just drag it on forever and nothing really get done - it's not hurting the brand of the PL or of City like it should, so there's no rush to do anything.

I think it's less that, and more that City's lawyers have been very aggressive in making sure journalists can say very little until there's a verdict
 
I’d be surprised if there’s any significant punishment. UAE have the UK government in their pocket, and premier league won’t want to rock the boat

It could also impact future TV rights. Look at what happened to Serie A, when the top teams got caught cheating.
 
The other clubs in the league should start making noise now about how long this is taking. It's just ridiculous. Yet another summer where they just do as they please in the transfer market with no consequences.

Something has got to change.

Why would they? They all long to be in that position.

Plenty of billionaires out there now and every club in the league would lift their skirt for them for a chance to win trophies and the money that comes with it.

City have won 25 major trophies since 2010. You think other clubs would take "honour" instead of the chance of doing that with a sugar daddy/state?

If that was the case, They could have made the charges go away before the trial.

It's a bit of a lose lose for the PL. If City are found guilty it reflects really badly on them. If they aren't then it gives other clubs free reign to do the same.
