Probably because likes of Chelsea, Villa and of course Newcastle want the FFP rules relaxed for their benefitIt is a disgrace how the biggest football league is handling this, as if they try to do everything to make it disappear not to run into any potential issues.
But I also wonder why the other clubs are not making a huge deal out of it and put pressure on them.
Probably because they aren’t yet proven to be guilty, and it would therefore lead to them being sued.I would just love for one or more of the managers of other PL teams to call attention to this. Call them cheaters in press conferences. There‘s probably reasons why they can‘t.
Yeah and probably haven't got the same level of lawyersProbably because they aren’t yet proven to be guilty, and it would therefore lead to them being sued.

For now maybe but then what if they can offer players 400-500k a week? Newcastle especially would be able to go absolutely berserk.Even if you got rid of FFP (or whatever its called these days) Newcastle and Villa still wouldnt be able to compete with the so called big 6 as all of those 6 are lightyears ahead of them pull wise and all except us have billionaire owners that would be happy to pump money in to the kitty to buy up the best players who will always choose one of them over Newcastle or Villa.

United couldn’t have offered them that. And besides they could just keep going until the big 6 couldn’t.The so called big 6 will be able to offer the same.
Players like Sesko and Mbuemo arent turning them down because the cant offer high wages, they are turning them down because they dont want to go there.
Yeah both a pair of lottery winners whilst we suffered at the hands of these yankee leeches for 21 yearsUnited couldn’t have offered them that. And besides they could just keep going until the big 6 couldn’t.
Money can go a long long way, look how Chelsea and city got here
Christmas will be here firstWe are going to get GTA 6 before the results on this.
Gta 6, Nov isn't it? So technically...Christmas will be here first
Yeah fair pointGta 6, Nov isn't it? So technically...
Seriously feck off with the regurgitated AI shite. I'm having AI shoved down my neck at every turn. Everyone knows where to access it if they want to, you don't need to post it hereAccording to Gemini, the 115 charges were filed against City more than three years ago.
The 115 charges against Manchester City were officially filed by the Premier League on February 6, 2023.
The charges followed a four-year investigation into alleged financial breaches spanning a nine-season period from 2009–10 through 2017–18. The key allegations include:
- 54 charges for failing to provide accurate, up-to-date financial information (including sponsorship revenues and operating costs).
- 14 charges for failing to provide accurate details regarding player and manager compensation.
- 5 charges relating to breaches of UEFA's Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations.
- 7 charges relating to breaches of the Premier League's Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR).
- 35 charges for failing to cooperate with the Premier League's investigation between December 2018 and February 2023.
Hey gpt, sum this up so I can look pointlessly post it on a forum.Seriously feck off with the regurgitated AI shite. I'm having AI shoved down my neck at every turn. Everyone knows where to access it if they want to, you don't need to post it here
Yeah and City will succeed unfortunatelyWeren't the charges levied by the FA, after they did a lengthy investigation? It seems hard to believe that they would then try to sweep it all under the rug and let them off. If they had no interest in doing anything about it, why would they start the whole thing in the first place?
I think it's more likely that they weren't prepared for the level of legal warfare they'd be facing. City are lawyering their way out of it.
35 charges for failing to cooperate but being able to compete in the league anyway is wildAccording to Gemini, the 115 charges were filed against City more than three years ago.

It's definitely corruption, the amount of money swimming around the PL is obscene, to think it's not influencing things is naive .People are putting this on Citys lawyers delaying or whatever but this is purely on the PL and the commission.
I mean it hasn't even gotten to the stage where City could appeal because there is no verdict or whatever.
The hearing has taken place 20 months ago, it's completely inexplicable why there is no verdict yet, basically only two options:
- The PL is corrupt and are looking for a way to save face in coordination with City.
- They're genuinely overwhelmed with the technical details of the verdict and want to be 100% bulletproof for upcoming appeals etc. Which I guess would be fair if we're talking half a year until a decision, but almost 2 years?? It's a billion dollar business, surely they can afford enough staff to quicker process the groundwork needed for a case like this. Completely ridiculous.
Because City lawyers have bought their silenceI am curious why they haven’t been suspended after being charged with corruption.
They’re not done with their rebuild yet.I am curious why they haven’t been suspended after being charged with corruption.
Authorities not a soft touch in ItalyJuventus were severely punished, yet it is a bigger club that City.
They were probably waiting for Claude Opus 4.8 to be released so it can do some of the leg work, while Abu Dhabi is probably using Mythos.People are putting this on Citys lawyers delaying or whatever but this is purely on the PL and the commission.

This is an even bigger farceIn the end Juventus weren't found to have done anything illegal. The whole thing was a farce.
The accused party is presumed to be innocent until they are proven to be guilty, that's a basic principle of UK law.I am curious why they haven’t been suspended after being charged with corruption.
Well, I mean that's true for criminal offences and ordinary people, but the PL is effectively a private members club operating under its own rules. The accused party is presumed to be innocent until they are proven to be guilty, that's a basic principle of UK law.
City cannot be punished with suspension simply because they have been charged. Britain is a democracy not a police state and, despite the 115/130 charges, long may it continue.
No, not true. The issue is City could challenge the Premiership rules on the basis they contradict basic UK principles of law and would almost certainly win.Well, I mean that's true for criminal offences and ordinary people, but the PL is effectively a private members club operating under its own rules.
The same is true for athletes in sports - they agree to compete under a set of rules. That's why people get banned after an adverse drug test, even before it is proven officially.
The issue here is that there is nothing in the rules of the private members club to suspend a football club in these circumstances. City have done their utmost to litigate this out of existence.

City cannot be punished until their guilt is proven. To do otherwise would result in the City lawyers taking the Premiership to the cleaners.

Apparently you don't have to follow the rules, City are doing just fine and have not followed the rules for years.rules are rules but see to be honest ffp rules are biggest loada dung.
I can understand the proof of affordability and source of funds to make sure clubs don’t go bust and prove legality.
But if you buy a business whether it’s a pub a strip joint football club whatever you have to spend money to make money.
Eddie Howe has basically lost a job because multi billionaires have to make the books balance.
But like I said rules are rules
Put if or when they are found guilty regardless of the punishment there titles with have asterisks. Rangers done similar in Scotland didn’t they before ffp rules. Didn’t lose there titles.Apparently you don't have to follow the rules, City are doing just fine and have not followed the rules for years.
