How have Real Madrid looked tonight, just had a look at the stats and 11 shots on target away from home is pretty good going so suggests they should be far more than 1-0 up.

Vital they hang on otherwise things going to get pretty difficult for them to qualify.
Some atrocious defending in the first half, bailed out a few times by Courtois, created chances at will though that's more to do with galatasaray being genuinely the worst team we've faced this season. Second half we've yet to have any big defensive lapses yet, but one's incoming

Just looking at the Gala team is quite a sight, it's like a collection of players massively rated a few years back and now all collecting their pension.

Nagatomo, Jean Seri, N'zonzi, Younes Belhanda, Ryan Babel and Florian Andone all started, Sofiane Feghouli and Emre Mor came on as subs. A few of those did well in La Liga.

Poor second half from Galatasaray, that Madrid defense was there for the taking.

Babel is their only attacking player that's been somewhat difficult to deal with, though mostly because he's much bigger than carvajal and they used him as a target man and he did well. Otherwise, they're terrible. Their RB and one of the CBs are decent defenders, but otherwise it's a shower of shite. What's worse is they're so tactically inept as well. They defend worse than us

Yeah but gala's is faaaaaaaaaaaar worse. Honestly we should have pumped them 4 or 5 tonight

Also, remember when Barcelona wanted Seri? That was fun, pity they didn't get him:lol::lol::lol: terrible player. Just terrible

Barça and Real are skint, aren't they? We can splash 200m I reckon. :) Why would you not want to come to a team that regularly reaches CL finals?
We just spent €300m this summer

Individual quality again covering the cracks on an otherwise unconvincing performance.
conversion rate is the problem, if you shoot 26 times (vs 5) but only 6 (vs 3) on target, then the game ends 2-1 as statistically expected but you will lose against equal or better teams that are more clinical; it must be said the squad is still used to allegri’s letargy, probably because of too much endurance work and not enough repeated sprinting?

Oh well, as expected.
I'll give Atalanta credit though, they believe in their style of play.

Would have been easy to head to City and sit back deep content with a 0-2 loss or something of the sort, but they attacked every opportunity they could, and had some nice periods of control in the match, probably should have had 2-3 tonight but that style means they are always susceptible to a 10 minute period like they had for Sterling's hattrick.

Didn't Sarri outright said those players are built for endurance rather than sprinting?

Joao mario sucks for Portugal but he's doing good for his team, anyway the juventus game sucks because the Russians play with 2 lines of 5-5
He doesn't though. He did well in the Ukraine game for example but got scapegoated.

He had a terrible period when he was crap both for country and club but outside of that he's good.

Eder was great today too, he adopted Bonucci. Complete domination, it was actually embarassing to watch. It got to a point where Bonucci didn't even bother trying to go for the ball.

Yep. Plus, they're especially vulnerable to good, pacey dribblers who can carry the ball forward and beat multiple players. The fatal flaw of playing man-to-man all over the pitch, when you lose those individual duels, your entire shape goes to the dogs

Another tuesday match I missed, but this time it's for the better, as far as I've heard. We're really going nowhere.

won’t have his beloved pacey midgets but fielding 4 holding midfielders not offering any switch of gear is surely asking for trouble? It is really neither fish nor flesh atm, he is lucky enough the squad is truly used to grind results.

I am not to sure what it is even a lot of the "chances" created were more like half chances rather then legit ones. Its been a common theme this season and it feels Juve have won most games this season 2-1 or by the skin of there teeth. There individual quality is giving them wins but that won't always be the case.

small atalanta’s owner needs to understand if they can compete with the big boys or just live the fairytale until it lasts. Either way, they are a credit to progressive football.

How good is he going to look when Nike sponsor us and Klopp makes him our number 1 target. :)
He will look as good as ever in his PSG shirt while you'll settle on Dele Alli. ;)

Despite the 5-0 we were pretty poor for a while. Brugge caused us problems but looked like they would be in big trouble at the back if we had at least one of Neymay or Mbappé, and when Mbappé came in, indeed they were done.
