Players will be on holiday and will return around next week.

You think the last Europa League game on 16/08/2020 + a holiday in between will be enough to get fit for 19/09/2020?
Ideally no. But I also don't think we'll play friendlies with only two weeks to go after vacay until league start.
Especially not with International call-ups as well.
Plus threat of corona in matches that don't count.
We'll do in-house matches instead.

At least we haven't had a full month vacay and then training for a month+ like normal summers.

It will be more like hitting the ground running after our last season.

At the moment, it is like 3 weeks till the first game, including one week without key players as most of them will be on international break in the first week of September. As National League games are from 3rd to 8th, I guess we will be together on 10th, which is like 7 days to first game and we won't be able to play any friendlies in that period. Since we are not together at the moment, and on Monday players will leave on International, we won't have friendlies before that (and no news about it), so that means that we will enter the season without a single friendly game or in the best case scenario with one.

If we add any signings those signings won't have preseason with team, as there will be no preseason.

So, looks like we will have to count on luck and some crazy motivation from Ole and players :)

Excellent! Like a new signing!
If Luke can stay fit and play like his pre broken leg performances, i will be happy, otherwise he can leave because he has not be consistent enough, however, he was improving after he stopped eating all those pies after lockdown.

He was consistent, he was one of the best performers pre restart injury and the balance of the team was way off when he wasn’t playing.

Yes, he was............however, despite providing a lot of balance to the team on the left, his productivity was still very average, bordering on poor. That's a huge concern, that even when Shaw is having a good season, he's not notching up created chances or assists. Ultimately, we need more ambition as a club than being happy with a guy finally finding consistency. We need some level of outstanding offensive contribution, especially if the opposite flank is a notoriously limited offensive option.

Grealish to put on a great performance and Ole to decide to ask board to prepare a bid

Totally agree.... productivity from Shaw was poor, just think of the days of Irwin and Evra...heck even Heinz was better from an attacking pov

Henderson, Ighalo, Pogba, Van de Beek, Shaw, Bailly and Maguire all probably desperately feel they need game time. Otherwise other fringe players will fill up the team such as Pereira, Lingard, Williams, Mengi and Rashford for some minutes if he's ready.

I kinda tend to think that preseason against domestic or European clubs is a lot more beneficial for the players than playing somewhere outside of Europe. Only problem is that injury fears might be greater bc the european clubs probably wont go as soft on us physically.

I think this is the time highlights are available, otherwise it will be an afternoon game at Villa Park with no live coverage.

Nah it’s due to the live matches on TV all day, not allowed to show the game at the same time.
Similar to why there are no games on TV between 3-5pm on saturdays but because there are 5.30Pm and 8pm kick offs they can’t televise so decided to play it later.

That broken leg was half a decade ago. If he hasn’t got back to that level yet, he never will.
