Club ownership | Senior management team talk

You got a source/article for this? I've never read anything from LvG suggesting this at all. Much the opposite.

Ah, my mistake. In fairness, I was very poorly advised. By myself.

We've all been there.

Yeah if Lvg had offered to resign who come he turned all bitter and twisted about the club?

Because he failed and, instead of owning it, went and blamed 'the club'.

Not the first nor the last to tread this path.
Its awful that this club has been dragged down to point that we avoided relegation this season because of the bottom 3 being so bad.

Fair enough, I agree, but everyone avoids relegation by virtue of the relegated being shitter.

Not trying to be smart. We've been absolutely godawful and it really is alarming.

The best in class football people are going to make 2nd major mistake in 2 summer window.

The 1st major mistake they did not only threw away our season but almost got us relegated, finishing 16-17th.

Hope their decision to keep and back Amorim will be the right call. But looking at PL form, all the red flags are there.

2nd major? I dont think SJR thinks he is the best in class and since last summer, our decision makers on the manager have changed....

So let me get this right..

If we win, the plan to celebrate is a BBQ at Carrington? I know it's not the biggest trophy and doesn't warrant an open top bus parade, but feck me that's low-key.

Will the players be asked to supply their own burgers, sausages and condiments?

This helps with the visualisation as I'm struggling a bit.

Ineos have managed the impossible: to be as fecking useless as the Glazers. Tell me one thing they've got right so far...

They are not only useless, they are also massive twats. They seem determined to rip out anything vaguely nice about the club at the alter of cost cutting which seems like it will save a pitiful amount

Yet @Posh Red thinks we are being overdramatic
Come on now  I said there was no risk of relegation, and any one suggesting otherwise was being OTT. Be fair now.

I actually went back and had a look. Basically said: there is already plenty of legitimate big problems at United that people have every right to complain about, without having to invent scenarios where we were nearly relegated. So not really what you said, at all.

Yeah only because the promoted sides were probably three of the worst ones ever so we had lucky escape.

Hardly a lucky escape, I can only think of one team ever going down with a points total more than we currently have, west ham. We've been safe for ages and if we were ever in trouble we'd have certainly picked up more points playing first choice in games.

It's a shite season there's really no reason for further dramatic falsehoods.

Which was all I ever implied. For some reason, I got jumped on by about five different posters, though, arguing about things I never said

The only way to make that right is to turn it into a family fun day. As it’s at carrington get bouncy castles etc for the kids, peno shootouts etc. make it a real fun day for the family’s. Not great for the fans but make it seem like less of a cheap skate move

Absolutely nailed it

No, Jim said the players will go to B&Q to buy some supplies to help rebuild Carrington.

The players should be grateful for the BBQ celebration. The money saved is very important for the club to pay Glazers' leveraged buyout annual interest and debts, and also pay them their dividends.

I dont understand the big issue in this... do fans want a open top parade for winning the Europa? seriously?

What’s the exact source of the barbecue story, and is it at all possible that the publisher of the story has deliberately represented the story in such a way to rile up United fans?

Fair play. I really don’t see the issue, personally. Low key family day out to celebrate. If any serious celebration was arranged, after the season we’ve had, you can imagine the reaction from the press and fans (both United and others).

Absolutely nailed it.

I have to be honest, it's awful staff are being made redundant but look at city. Better, more efficient administration operations on half the staff. We are a billion in debt pre-Ideos.

No excuse for the lack of contingency regarding ex-player's charity, though. We must insist on a restitution for it.

I can't really comment on the right size for the club workforce and I have no problem with some of the things the club have done (e.g. stopping payments to sir alex) but some have been outright shitty and continually stripping the workforce benefits just makes it seem like a shit place to work. They will save a tiny amount and make sure the best staff go elsewhere.

At the same time they seem to be unbothered by the fact our footballing operations still appear second rate. Despite it being by far the biggest contributor to our underperformance (both on the pitch and financially).

It all just smacks of them running through a tired playbook which might make sense for an underperforming petrochemical company but doesn't for a football team

I could get over them cutting the workforce. But it should have been done in one swoop not the slow drip feed of sackings every few weeks. Keeping the axe hanging over the head of everyone at the club is just dumb, counter productive management.
+1 on the were not a petrochemical company comment above.

Yeah we are definitely still second rate yet their answer to that is to just move the deckchairs around instead of appointing experienced people for these roles

Eh this is a pretty bad criticism of Ineos tbh. I don't think they've been great either but one thing they've got right is the cost-cutting.

We have the most bloated staff personnel team in the league. Relative to what we've achieved over the last decade there's no reason that we should have so many people at the club draining funds (which we don't have).

What makes it even worse is a lot of those people at the club have engaged in self-sabotage over the years. In our recruitment team alone you'll hear stories of how they ignored data scouting/analysis because they were afraid of losing their jobs. The club became about "how can I keep my job and get a nice christmas bonus" instead of sporting success.

This is UTTERLY embarrassing from the club. Bruno did the same for FA cup. I don't think we should have parade for Europa. But the club got to be embarrassed when the coaches and players are footing the bill to get staff to the finals.

Either way, it not being accompanied by on-field results meant it'd be abraded.

Again, the players/staff et al are on hundreds of thousands a week (for poor performance).

With us fans having ticket price increases, staff losing their jobs and the club one billion in debt it makes some sense not to be throwing such wad about.

It's all particularly enraging the club is in this position, all because of the Glazer's mismanagement.

We are talking about the backroom staff: the physio, the trainers, the scouts and the on field/off field support staff. These are regular workers. They are not on 100,000 a week. Maybe they do better than average worker but they are regular workers.
I don't get average folks siding with billionares over the regular worker and we wonder why the system is broken.
Look at what PSG did, the owner paid for staff to attend.
There are stuff you just do to keep a good working environment outside just paying the checks. UTD used to do this stuff and there were no financial issues.
If INEOS want to nickel and dime and run the club like a Burnely then sell it. If you can't afford to run the club then sell to someone who will. UTD make enough revenue where they can take care of their workers. The problem is the Glazer debt, take it away and finances are more than fine

Well said they should sell up if they can't afford to run the club without sacking loyal staff and footing trips for staff.

I would hope it’s just a temporary thing while the club gets their house in order, and in future seasons we can reintroduce these perks for the staff. One can hope.

feck Sir Jim, feck INEOS & feck the Glazers. Scumbags the lot of them. Totally and utterly destroyed this once great club.

If I’m Ruben I’m walking at the end of the season regardless of the result. No one should have to work under these conditions. It’s an absolute embarrassment.
