Club ownership | Senior management team talk

Such a shame after the unified condemnation of Ratcliffe's comments.

Agreed.

Homophobia is a blight on society and always has been.

Section 28 style politics, and their champions, sadly appeal to a portion of the electorate.

We hear different languages and smell strange new foods now all over town now, that obviously means we're on the precipice of being conquered and subsequently marginalized...right?
I am living in UK for 25 years and never felt an outsider, credit goes to the tolerant British public for welcoming so many into Britain in last 25 years (I know recently numbers got multiplied because of Boris Johnson's wave)

It was 93% British and only 7% immigrants back in 2000, but now it is almost 80%-20%, with 8M net immigrants added since 2000, so it is reasonable when some of locals feel uneasy about these growing numbers (56M white and 14M non white out of 70M population)

The major problem here is, because of inept government's and their policies the cost of living is increasing and so many British families are not keen on having children, hence the reduction of British population which is not helping the numbers either.

Jim used the wrong wording like colonized or given us some made up numbers but I believe he got a valid point on criticising the government policies as Britain is quickly falling behind other countries, The debt is increasing and quality of life has been on downhill for a long time, so governmnet should look at restructuring policies/benefits system etc to make Britain great again.

He tried to made a good point but used the wrong scenario as lot of immigrants are on 40% tax rate, end of the day 10M people claiming benefits is bit too much for any country progress.

He lied about the numbers and used obviously inflammatory language. Jim Ratcliffe is a lot of things but stupid isn't one of them, he knew what he was saying. feck him.

Correct. He said what he said to make a point, facts be damned.

He didnt lie about the numbers he got them wrong, likely saw some unverified stats somewhere and believed them. In other words, yes he is stupid.

Not many stupid self made billionaires out there in my opinion. Plenty of shady, lying arsehole ones though.
He knew what he was doing. The shit head. Would love him to get a hostile reception every time he goes to OT

He came from a council house to become a multi billionaire, so its safe to say he isnt stupid.

Cooperman - sorry for some reason I’m not allowed to post internet links already posted ….
So what’s the deal here ?

What is his track record ?

What’s his motivation ? Is he just an opportunist riding on the back of the Glazer circus or does he have greater ambitions ?

Is he mates with Jim ? Or the Glazers ? Or the sheiks ? Or is he a lone wolf ?

Does he know where Manchester is ? Let alone what does he know about the club ?

These are the types of question we should asking to my mind ….

I think we have a word for that.

It's funny how you people always slip at some point and remind us that it's not about about them being immigrants, it's about the colour of their skin.

Wonder if it is himself who has bought them from his own personal wealth or whether it's his Capital investment company

It's mostly a myth though. Access to benefits is very limited for several years for immigrants here with the vast majority getting nothing and those that do get something are outweighed by the contributions of others. People don't just come in and start getting benefits. Asylum seekers get a very small grant which makes up less than 0.2% of the welfare system. If they're granted asylum, which can take years, they get access to UC, but they only make up 1.5% of claimants. The whole thing is really overblown.
I read that they get £25 a week and until they’ve worked through the system they can’t work officially and pay tax.

Immigrants and social welfare are the lowest common denominators which the higher class use to blame when the country is not looking good.

It is purely an investment transaction, he might see Jim as the guy to fix the clubs issues or he may see potential for another sale down the line that would give him a good return but he is not positioned to buy the club himself. It is mad to think we live in an age when being a billionaire is not enough to enable you to buy a top tier club, hedge funds and oil countries have inflated the value of teams horrendously in the last 25 years. Mad to think that the Seahawks sold for under 200M in the late nineties and are now expected to sell for around 7-8B, I think a full sale of United would likely wind up in the same ballpark.

Unfortunately there's no one outside of a oil state or tech giant who could put up £7-8bn to buy this club

How come there's such a marginal decrease in revenue when our overall number of matches has been significantly lower?

More broadcasting revenue compensated lower number of matches. The numbers at the outset are quite remarkable if true (i.e. no extraordinaries that inflate profit).

Some news outlets reporting on our cost reduction and highlighting that cutting jobs and removing staff lunches is bearing fruit

Good to know the 25k a year salary for support staff is having an impact…and absolutely nothing to do with getting rid of big earners like Ronaldo, Varane, Pogba, Martial, Mata, Rashford, Sancho, Antony in recent seasons

Look no further than at who owns these outlets to see why they choose to highlight those staffing cuts instead of the millions of pounds in wages that have been freed up recently...

Damn, what were we doing on those Christmas parties all these years? Gifting Ferraris to every employee?

Grinch was right after all.

Wasn’t tea ladies though, was it?

A lot of it was that bloated IT department 70,80,90 grand plus working like it was 2004.
They were having a right old laugh

Think it is clear that both the playing staff and the non playing staff costs needed to be addressed, and they have done that. Next step is actually bringing success on the pitch.
