yet his club deems him not good enough for the europa conference league.
I think that’s fair, no? Why would Palmer have seen Zola play?
Essentially, when Chelsea started doing their 7 year contracts, the loophole was that they could spread the costs over that entire time. Now I think it has been maxed out at a fix of five years, despite the length of contract. Hence, super long contracts do not provide an FFP loopholes anymore. What do you mean with "has already been dealt with"? Must have passed me by.
Mo Salah and Erling Haaland say hello.
Also, for him to consider a move to Spain or Germany, those clubs have to actually want him, and I haven't heard any rumours of Madrid or Barca desperately wanting to add him to their ranks. Probably would need to keep up his form for longer for that to happen (whether he goes or not).
Some good goals and some good play, but also a lot of penalties. Oh for sure. He needs to keep his form up, but I am not sure there are many signs he won't.
As for Salah and Haaland. Yes, they're both great goal scorers but they do not usually split teams open like Palmer does with his passing. In addition, if you look at Palmers catalogue of goals (much smaller sample granted) he also appears to have a greater range of goal types. Just off the top of my head Palmer has a first time finish from outside the Box in a Euros final. A postage stamp perfect freekick from 30 yards. Rounded a keeper and CB at very close quarters with multiple deft touches (I think Luton....) and has a couple of first time chips from 30+ yards against GK's who have got themselves caught out of position. Then there is the fact he is automatic from the spot.
obviously, Palmer still needs to show this form for a longer period, but I would say he has shown a more rounded game, with a wider range of finishes than those two in 2024.

Palmer is comfortably a better, more creative, and more dangerous passer than Salah:Salah is very much capable of similar passes Palmer displayed
I have never seen Salah do anything close to Palmers most recent assist.Salah is very much capable of similar passes Palmer displayed
@TheMagicFoolBus Just watch the video belowI have never seen Salah do anything close to Palmers most recent assist.

Good thing that wasn't a assist.
In case you guys doubted his passing, just watch this. This compilation is 3 years old btw
All I'm saying is that Palmer's pass isn't something Salah won't be able to do because of a lack of ability but more so because of what you really described well in terms of positioning and role on the pitchSalah isn't a bad passer by any means - but he's still not as good at passing as Palmer.
Some of Salah's passing from the right is unbelievable and the very highest class - but Palmer drops deeper into central areas and is a far bigger threat as a result on top of also being absolutely lethal from the right.

Bit of a chicken and egg situation then - I don't really think Salah is effective dropping deep or into central areas. So perhaps he could have hit that pass in isolation but I don't think he could have received the ball facing his own goal, turned, and then smashed it perfectly. All I'm saying is that Palmer's pass isn't something Salah won't be able to do because of a lack of ability but more so because of what you really described well in terms of positioning and role on the pitch
Pfft you lot should look at this lad. The passiest of all the passers in the Prem
We'll never know for sure I guess but I have no doubt he could. A major part of why Salah is so good at passing is defenders have to give him space since his first step is so quick and they're often isolated against him 1v1. This isn't to take credit away from him but I just don't think Salah is capable of playing the same level of creative passes from congested central areas.
Another good example of a player capable of brilliant passing.
Yet weirdly not a player I'd call a "good passer" if I was being serious.
Players who can do those eye of the needle 30 - 40 yard passes that can split a defence are always fun though.
My favourite of all time.
WUM harder! Maresca answered this straight away. Load management during the group stage.yet his club deems him not good enough for the europa conference league.

As an elite athlete, Palmer seldom munches a Maccies - unlike many of his mates.
But on the few occasions he does, the winger absolutely goes to town.
The Euro 2024 final goalscorer, 22, was quizzed about his order during an appearance on the Men in Blazers podcast.
He replied: "Double cheeseburger, 20 nuggets and a strawberry milkshake."
I don't know how Chelsea fans could continue supporting him after this. McDonald's chips are the best in all the land.No french fries with his maccies order I see. He's a chippy chips guy through and through.

I'm partial to the Five Guys 'drowned in grease' chippies, TBH.They're great for about 5 minutes while they're piping hot but after that, they're down the bottom of the list just above KFC chips.
Remind me why City let this guy go.
I think he is the best player in the league right now, in terms of his overall contribution.
This will go down as the worst sale in PL history, worse than Salah and de Bruyne, because he is still so young and he was their own.
Great to see City finally making a massive mistake that will haunt them for years.
I enjoyed his performance today. But Salah has been better in big games thus far, IMO. And I'm not a huge Salah fan, either, but I give him credit for probably being the best around at the moment (in the PL).I think he is the best player in the league right now, in terms of his overall contribution.
