Cole Palmer

Don't you think if Chelsea again finish around 10th. Estevao and Joao Pedro would ask for moves and maybe we'd have a chance of signing them? Chelsea defence is terrible I just don't see how they can keep these sort of players long term.
Aren't they in talks with Lacroix, thu k they know they need to sort out the back line next..

I would hate to see us spend money on bringing in Cole Palmer

Spending big money on a crock who's just coming off a rubbish season feels very Woodward/Murtough coded

If Chelsea need to offload for PSR or PPE, PSHE or whatever it is, I would take him.

Absolutely not

Of course - just pointing out the absurdity of some people saying 'oh I'd take for him £50m'.

No slight on either of these lads as I like them as players, but he's worth triple that if Rogers and Anderson are going for £117m.

Would we get the "Cold Palmer" trademark and the rights to the celebration in the deal as well? Might be worth 30-40m in itself.

Get ya. People are living in cloud cuckoo land this summer with their pricing

If Rogers is going for £117m, then imagine how much Chelsea would be looking for with Palmer? That instantly makes this signing a non-starter.

Plus, with his injuries and how much that impacted him last season and the fact we already have Bruno, makes this a far too risky signing.

We need to be prioritising a top quality midfielder, left back and left winger/striker before we look at someone like Palmer.

You’re signing a truly great player, but he’s likely a crock. If you can manage his minutes there’s a great squad player in there. Maybe even better if his groin issues clear up permanently.

I think they’d sell him for a reasonable price; he’s allegedly unsettled in London, he’s a United fan, and seems a generally decent person which are all attributes we look for. The risk with him I’d say is mainly his fitness. He’s not great when he’s not tip-top.

Personally, I think the risks outweigh all of it. Unless it’s for around £70m, maybe £80m, I fear it’s a massive risk, but he’s not going for those prices.

I’m not wholly convinced he will consistently return to the form of a couple of years ago either. We can be a bit more wily with our succession planning post-Bruno, and look at other alternatives.

I agree mainly and I think the fee would still be around £70m at the least. At that range I’d be a bit on the fence with it.

A fully fit Palmer of the season before last is a great replacement for Bruno, and what you think of as a United No.10.

Surely a swap for Rashford is in order. I've heard that Chelsea have a left forward that they're not too enamoured with, and we have just the thing. And ours is a WC scorer with England while Palmer never made the squad, so we can expect some cash coming our way.

I am , perhaps do some due diligence before posting that’s all .
He literally said himself last season that he hadn't played a single game where he was actually fit.

As far as sources that feels pretty reliable.

There are serious concerns about it he recovers fully and what that looks like for his future.

Does Palmer play LW? Because let’s be clear CAM is kind of a lock for Bruno for at least 1 or 2 years.

I think Palmer is an idiot even by football player standards, room temp IQ, not a player to expect reliability from.

£40 million for Palmer would be more ridiculous than £117 million for Rogers.

You just paid £50 mil for Santos!
Lad is homesick. Chelsea could show some compassion

I just read this morning form his latest interview, no doubt he is a good footballer but how can a person went to a country to visit a doctor and cant remember that country name?

=====
It was the first serious injury the forward has ever suffered and he admits that he did not know how to handle the situation, playing when he should not have done.

Surgery was considered, but never called for despite going for a consultation – not that Palmer can recall which part of Europe he was in.

He said: “I can’t remember where, it was either Sweden or Denmark, one of them countries anyway, I went to see a doctor.

They just hold some chippy chips in front of him and lead him into the plane.

To be fair I can barely name a town south of Birmingham
