I think he had beef with both (seeing they were both members of Def Squad)... But "all that space shit that don't even make no sense"... Keith didn't have 3 series of Sooperman Luva* on his albums

*Awesome songs, especially the second

The astronomical is comin through like the flu bombin you
And embalmin in your crew too
With the musical mystical magical, you know how I do
I always had the impression it was Keith. Prodigy pulled a gun on him in front of a club and somebody hid under a car or whatever. I remember Keith saying that P is the size of a pencil too.

I've been listening to Life of Pablo quite a lot recently. One of the few hip hop albums of the 2010s that I play from start to finish. Despite how rushed it was at that time, it ages beautifully.

This is cool. Will Smith responding to Joyner's song Will, where he pays tribute to him.

Not to say either songs are amazing but I think its cool when things like this happen in hip hop, where everyone is usually acting too cool to be wholesome.

Similar thing happened between Cole and Nas too.

Thoughts on the new RA The Rugged Man album?
Haven’t heard it yet, but I find him great in small doses. Never liked a full album of his.

Yeah it’s good. Didn’t Nas do an appreciation track for Rakim and Rakim wasn’t fond of it?

Yeah so basically Rakim felt like the Nas song was pretty intrusive. He talked about things from Rakim's past that even Rakim himself hasn't touched on. I guess it being called an 'Unauthorized biography' says it all!

J Cole is one of the realest. Can always count on him to shows up to protests.
Responding to Noname's (deleted) tweet: Poor black folks all over the country are putting their bodies on the line in protest for our collective safety and y’all favorite top selling rappers not even willing to put a tweet up. N***as whole discographies be about black plight and they no where to be found.

I’m failing to understand why he did this tbh, decent song but coming for Noname was unnecessary and tone deaf, plus I don’t even think she was addressing him in her tweet and she’s been sharing knowledge and resources for months now, (she has a whole book club where they discuss black history) in fact she’s one of the few celebs who hasn’t been about BLM just because it began trending.
So im just really at a loss.

It's interesting to be honest. I'm glad he did it the way he did it. He stresses the point of educating someone and meeting them on their level to do it without getting frustrated or being patronising to someone. He's viewed as a superhero but he doesn't have all the answers (sway), he comes across quite humble.

Interesting to see Chappelle's point of view too.

“Why does anyone care what their favourite comedian thinks about all this? Why do I need to speak up when the streets are hurting? The streets are talking now, and I trust y’all to say what needs to be said.”

Yeah I understand Chappelle's point (it was an excellent show too) but in this particular example, I don't really see how it applies.

Also, I'd disagree with the point Chappelle made, because I think people with large platforms and power (celebrities - in all forms) can influence change - look at what Rashford is doing. Yes it's important to listen to the streets and the voices of the unheard - but two things can be done at once, it's not an either or situation.

Yeah just seen what’s going on and I don’t understand why he came for her. He’s been going to protests for years and talking about such issues, and everyone knows it so I’m not quite sure why he thought she was talking about him.

Cole isn't a social media guy, some people (not Noname) have criticised him for not using his platform enough despite being someone that has a voice that a lot of people listen to. His actions do speak louder though with protests and so does his music (Be Free, See World, High for Hours) but it may have been something on the back of his mind when making this song.

I think like False Prophets, he's not @ one person, he's trying to send a message to a wider group of people with maybe a line or two about Noname.

Feels like there hasn't been much good rap/hip-hop for a while. Trap seems like it is falling away a bit thankfully as I'm tired of that sound.

Still waiting on Isaiah Rashad to release his new album.

Potter Payper's new track from his EP

I know Heaven's got a ghetto for the G's like us
Just some clean heart bruddas who let the .35 buss
From knee high trapping in my Levi's bruk
Till I got my money tall like fee fi fum
Chop a brick like Daniel-son
It's in your heart if you stand or run
You can't gamble some
When you bang your gun
It stays with you like days when your Dad used to slap your Mum
Before I snitch I'll cut out my tongue
Not on my worst enemy, on God I swear that shit can't run
I've got the streets all in my blood
For what it's worth I've got spirits all in my cup
I'm getting burst; my heart, my soul, my pain
In every verse mashing work, you don't want no sitcho
Or I'll go schizo, and shoot up the disco, and stick up the distro
All in a day's work
Still Hennessey and my spliff rolled
I'm getting the bag, I ain't sweating a slag
I get dirty for sixteen, it's twenty a slab
And I don't know Garfield but I know Terry the cat
And if you give him six white he'll rent you the flat
Feds will tell you anything just to get you to rat
Moncler with the fur and the red and the black
Money will make your old bitches start begging you back
I need a house on the hill, suttin semi-detached
Cah living how I'm living I can never relax
I've got fish in the bowl and the recipes crack
And this fish talk to me like American Dad!
And my dirty's a ten, leave your head in your lap
Shots definitely tap, don't make him press on the MAC and air out
Shots definitely tap, don't make him press on the MAC and air out
Moncler with the fur and my diamonds looking burrr
I'm rapping and I'm trapping, I don't know what I prefer
All them years on the spur seem to merge into a blur
Probably why I drink it from the bottle till I slur
Full throttle when I skrrr, Cah they pray for my return
I need my money, Mr Burns, call me Monty
Cooler than the Fonzie, balling in the bando with a blondie
Pagans say they're on who? Pagans ain't on me
Cah I've got that twenty-two inch, I'll kill a zombie
Never been Pompey but I trap on sea
Beam at the trap like Grand Prix
Buses in the room when we convene
Scheming on bellies
Kitchen open real late like I'm eating at Eddy's
I have my young G's posted at cribs rocking ballys and semis
They ain't doing no leggies
They just wanna do it like Kevin & Perry
I've spent mad years sleeping at Debbie's, kipping on settees
I've spent mad years reading on basic, like feck a telly
Now I take a bitch to the telly and she ain't basic
And now I need a crib for my Nanny and one Adjacent
I got it out the mud, out the gutter, out the basement
Suttin Alexander McQueen on occasion
Six on my kicks, LV's when I lace 'em
Barking like Alsatians, strikers in formation
Bro hit a lick, twenty bricks off the Albanians
So I'm John Snow with the birds, I mean ravens
Shit I said I'm John Snow with the birds, I mean ravens
I know Heaven's got a ghetto for the G's like us
Just some clean heart bruddas who let the .35 buss
From knee high trapping in my Levi's bruk
Till I got my money tall like fee fi fum
My baby girl told me I'm a deep thinker
See I've got so much on my mind but I can't speak with her
How could I tell her that my friends just scheming her?
And more time I'm in the kitchen like Delia
They said "P back then you was greazier"
Cah back then I found jail more easier
I was broke, now I step out like Sim Simma
Black gun, black Bimma, fat white hitta
I need twenty keys like the gym bar
And that Ammonia smell just linger
Riding to some old school Timba
Flying through Pecky then I cut past Windsor
I'm in the Crown Court, no Judge Rinder
Gyaldem sugar, you don't catch me on Tinder
Catch me in the trap with my foil and syringer
Long time P been a double rap clinger

Anyone here into August Alsina? Has an upcoming album and a documentary series on YouTube after a hiatus from music due to health problems and the death of his late brother’s baby mother. Really happy to see his comeback.

Edit: missed a word

New Pop Smoke album is great. 44 BullDog, Gangstas and Got it on me my favourites at a first listen.

Also Westside Gunn dropped today as well. Yet to listen.

Gonna give it a proper listen tried to earlier but I was preoccupied with something else. Still can’t believe he’s gone and I believe they haven’t even got suspects?

Not necessarily looking forward because few posthumous records are pulled off successfully. But I'll listen.

With a different album cover obviously.
The Virgil Abloh designed one was horrendous glad they changed it

Anyone looking forward to new Pop Smoke today?
Few good songs (like the one with Rowdy (free him and Bobby)) but overall this album just sounds too pop and clean and sterile. If he was alive this would overall be much closer to the Drill sound.

But if his mom and family can eat off this then no harm done.
