In 13/14 we played City away on 26th December, and then Chelsea away 48 hours later.

The conspiracy theories on here at times are baffling. Is this what we used to be like when you were really good?

LFC also played two PL games within 48 hours of each other in late December in both 2016/17 and 2017/18.

This happens to everyone sometimes but people usually only take notice when it happens to their team, or occasionally if it's one of the teams in the title race.
