I think there's case to be made for Mount - at his best, he's like a less flashy and technically flamboyant but equally productive (post-Benfica version of) Felix, plus able to play as a double 8 more easily. Gallagher looks like a mid-table scrapper in current terms (or default type of England midfielder when really technically high-grade players haven't been available) , fine with space around him but not able to deal with congested spaces except with chaos-ball to an extent that even Liverpool can't allow. Even the likes of Milner have more 'finesse', though obviously he's at the final stages: more to the point, I think Harvey Elliott is potentially much better at both the 'beating people' and 'short quick passing to beat the block' sides, and equally capable of getting 'stuck in'. Maybe Gallagher could be converted to more of an overt defensive mid and do a decent job for Brighton or similar, where his technical faults could also be ironed out....
