Makes zero sense this.

Spurs are in a much worse state than Inter and their current lack of ambition annoyed the hell out of him. Without a massive squad overhaul, something Spurs don’t have the money for, glibhe’s going the same way as Poch & Jose.

One of those that leaves you scratching your head cause you and the majority are 90% certain how it’ll turn out.
it’s just another Jose type signing. They should get a young ambitious manager/coach and reboot. At least when they were doing the English Dortmund thing you could see the direction they were heading in. They are just signing average players nowadays.

It’s a pity conte isn’t going to go there because I’m sure he’d have taken one or two more fringe players off us. :(

First he didn’t want to manage Real Madrid, now he doesn’t want to manage Spurs. Who does this guy want to manage?

Howe would be a cracking signing for them. He deserves a shot at a bigger club.
Hell yeah! Roberto Martinez is another great choice, feel like he was underrated at Everton. Or maybe even Moyes?

This is all sarcasm

I’m quite glad. I think he’d make Spurs threatening.

Some people on this forum horrendously underestimate the man.

Or... you are overestimating Spurs.

I reckon Conte is absolutely and unquestionably a class manager. He's just won Serie A at a canter with Lukaku, Young and Sanchez featuring prominently.

But at the end of the day, it's Spurs.

They need to stop delaying the inevitable and give it to Roberto Martinez.

I don’t understand how this was ever a serious possibility. Spurs squad is not a manager away from contending for anything and conte won’t get the kind of investment he expects there.

This all smells like levy claiming, look I tried, before installing a bargain basement manager.

This must make for a great pitch from Levy to Kane.

Surprised they didn't go for Nuno, time to stop pretending they can attract the big managers.

Way too big for them at the end of the day.

Potter or Howe is their level I guess.

Wouldn’t have worked anyway

Conte falls out with every chairman

Levy falls out with every manager

Fixed.

They're onto 7th choice now.

Apparently Madrid approach Allegri first but he decided to join Juventus as they ceeded to all of his demands. Perez then wanted Conte, but at least 10 madrid players let the preseident and his entourage know that they werent keen to work under conte the bloody prima donnas. So Ancelotti's agent called Madrid and thats when Ancelotti got involved.

Anyway Conte wants the PSG job and has been happy to have his name linked to Spurs to put pressure on PSG to make a decision over Poch. Anyway a few PSG players have already approached the PSG president and said they wouldn't be keen to work under Conte. Apparently the thought of having to train hard to win trophies is abit too much for those prima donnas as well.

Spurs were happy to put out info that made it look they were closer to agreeing a deal with Conte than they really were. Conte's camp had reservations (as romano has said) but were happy to be linked because of PSG.

Source: transfer window podcast.

Personally i would love to be a fly on the wall for the 1st training session if Conte got the PSG job and Neymar was puking up in the corner.

True. One thing Spurs are good at is knowing their level and that success doesn't suit them

It is pretty amazing that we could get Conte. If we manage to get this over the line I'll be very impressed and happy.
Ouch, sorry mate. Genuinely not taking the piss. I think Conte would've been a superb manager for Spurs, indeed any top club. Hope for you guys you get someone good in (but not too good!).

I would like to announce, that after some deliberation I am formally not interested in managing spurs. I wish them the best in their recruitment process.

I remember reading about Conte when he has a interview he always asks what the owner/board expect from him and see’s if he thinks it’s possible so I’m not surprised he was in talks.

It’s obvious Levy said top 4 and told him the budget he would be receiving and he turned it down. For example if Levy said get us top 4 you have 150m and the Harry Kane money I think Conte would do it.
