Absolutely, he refused to admit there was a real problem until now. Although I read that in private he has been very paranoid about catching covid-19. The fact that he is allowing in people flying from the UK and Ireland is also a joke. People from the EU will just fly first to London and then to US.
Trump is known to be a big germaphobe (probably his only positive quality  ) So that wouldn’t surprise me!

Directly under the sun... NOW!
Euros and the Olympics are surely going to be postponed... Crazy. The weirdest thing is to watch this crisis evolve over time. It's like being unable to outrun a truck bearing down on you in slow-motion.

Obviously this will have already been asked, but if it’s cancelled, do we have to play Europa again next season?

There's only one United!
Is it true if the PL is suspended that the season will more or less be void with no promotion or relegation and the same representatives in European competition as last season?
It seems that there are many Liverpool supporters in the top echelons of the English FA as they're saying that the plan is for the PL to continue with games being played behind closed doors.
This to make sure that the scouse win the League and then everything might stop.

if they null the season and City's ban is upheld, Arsenal are back in the Champions League I guess

I suspect everything is going to change from today and it's almost certain that all sporting events are going to cease.

Okei I have been super against it, but seeing the revelations within past 24h. That might be a possibility. Although why not just halt it and postpone things, if things might calm down by summer we could continue with it? As if Euro2020 would be moved further then.

Geeezus...on top of that Mourinho‘s Spurs qualifies for the CL and Arsenal grab the 4th CL-spot in place of banned City. This is sounding worse by the day.

Reading some of these points below, it's suggesting that ONLY people who had tickets will be able to tap into these streams?

For free presumably? Still not the same as being there when you're paying £40 a ticket!
Even more awkward when you basically look after a couple of tickets like I do.

Will you get compensated? Very awkward all round.

● All Premier League season-ticket holders and ticket holders for individual games will be able to stream coverage of matches into their homes;

● No games will be shown in pubs so as to avoid congregation of people;

● Premier League games will not be shown live in the 3pm slot on Saturday afternoons;

● Broadcasters will be permitted to screen more than one Premier League game during both the lunchtime and tea-time television slots on Saturday, and the scheduled slots on Sundays and Mondays; and

● Season-ticket holders and ticket holders for individual games at Football League clubs will be allowed to watch matches on iFollow streams.

They should cancel the season now but have a small playoff style system where 1st v 2nd have to compete for the title, 3rd to 7th compete for Europe and bottom 6 fight for relegation. All behind closed doors which will massively reduce the remaining games and travel for the players. Also gives closure to the season.

Given that the NBA is now suspended, along with the Serie A, due to a player being infected, I think eventually all sporting events in the major hit countries will be suspended soon. All it will take is one major EPL player to catch the virus and I think the season will close.

The only question is what they will do about the title, will they give it to Liverpool or continue when the virus subsides? I don't think they will cancel it and start a new, they would be riots on the street in Liverpool.

Surely the last weekend of PL football for at least 1 month but probably more.

It would genuinely be hilarious, but I can't see it happening.

Think before it even got to that stage the season will be nearly finished and they'll have won it already.
I think this is the shame. If it were a closer run race and it meant the result wouldn’t be known till say the last/second last day (or if a cancelled round or two had a material impact) then there would be a genuine argument for not awarding a winner.

But I can’t see this impacting more than 3-4 rounds, which unfortunately is too little too late.

Things are spreading really quickly so I actually think this is going to be the last weekend of EPL football and expect it to be suspended, whether it will be cancelled completely is another story.

Even playing behind closed doors isn’t exactly fair is it? Home teams lose an advantage if their fans aren’t there, it changes the picture. I’m sure if we go to the last day level with Leicester for a CL spot, Leicester will not be happy to not have their crowd behind them.

My prediction is in the next few days an Atletico player will test positive, which will force Liverpool into quarantine, and then Everton if they have played them by that time. At that point the league will be cancelled and the PL will have to decide on how to allocate CL and relegation places.

Just null the season and for european qualification take the set up that we began this season with.

I'd imagine this is going to last for 2-3 months at least. We are still in the early stages of it.
The league can only be on hold for 60 days before it is made null and void, in which case it would have to be restarted from scratch or wiped from existence entirely.

Question to all reds: Would you take another season in the Europa if it meant Liverpool not winning the title and Leeds staying in the championship? Bearing in mind that any small chance we have of getting Sancho probably goes with no CL football next season.
A tough one, but Yes, I think I would take that.
Seeing Liverpool win the league has been far more difficult than I thought it would be. The problem though is that I'm not confident there is anyone strong enough to challenge them next year either, so it might just be delaying the inevitable. In that case, I would want to take champions league now so that it can help our finances and perception of standing for potential acquisition players

Liverpool not winning it from here would be like the pepe reina balloon incident multiplied by a million in terms of cruel football hilarity. (that sentiment is obviously separate to the real life hope that coronavirus is contained and life including football carries on as normally as possible)

As much as I would love to see that title slip away from Liverpool.
The other implications are depressing as well. Both Arsenal and Spurs will be back in CL again when it eventually restarts and we will still be in EL. :(
Price it takes I guess to make it 31 years.

I think it was the opposite as there were close to 500K deaths? but never seen country lockdown and the impact on business like this.
Look at the percentages. If the same no. Of people get this as swine flu there'll be 30 or 40 million dead

People with this mindset are the reason this virus has spread worldwide in the 1st place.

Travelling to countries affected with no concern for others, just because there are only 25 reported cases doesn't mean that that's all there is.

This virus is much more easily spread and much more lethal than the general flu. These lock downs and travel bans should've come into place over a month ago.

It was so obvious that it was bad when China were locking down millions of people but governments in the west didn't take advantage of the head start they had and so here we are.
Yeah of course it my fault the virus spread. What do you after you spent out hundreds of pound and you can’t get a refund for anything? It’s a bad version of flu, that’s it.

If it were man City in first, do you think there would be similar sentiments? Or if this happened during Uniteds dominance. Or in October.

The sporting emotions don't supercede health and a global pandemic. If it needs to be stopped people need to be adults and focus on caring for people near them.

This is what I'm leaning toward as well.
Losing the title though in this manner may dent their moral so bad as well, and already cracks have started over the last few months and it's been more luck and VAR that has helped them over the line than earlier in the season.
So maybe the next season will be a lot less tight.
The silver lining is that their trophy parade will have to be called off and winning it in whatever stadium will be empty.

Who cares? Neither of them are gonna win the CL and neither are we.

We're currently 5th, if not for City's financial stuff we wouldn't be in the CL anyway.

Let Ole build the team and we'll get there if and when we're ready. The PL and domestic cups are important stepping stones to the CL, focus on them.

What the hell! What a massive overreaction from the Polish/Chinese/Italian/Korean governments and the organisation in charge of maintaining health. If only people were rational and level headed like you, a tourist who wants a beer.
The beer was worth it watching the scousers lose surrounded by Scouse fans.

Christ...
Have you not read anything in this thread and just came here to spew your ignorant rant that "boo hoo" your trip was a total waste. People are fecking dying!!! and you worried that you missed out on tourist attractions. Bore off.
I'm glad you not getting a refund so you get to feel a TINY fraction of the loss others are feeling having their loved ones taken because of this virus.

Bad version of the flu my arse.
