What are you referring to here?
The mints thing. Tres was England's designated ball shiner in that series and he says he used to suck on mints to make his saliva better for shining the ball. It's not remotely the same league as sandpaper but I'm not about to defend it either.

I think they have bowled well. Disciplined. Good line and length. Need Smith out or he will single handedly take us out of the game.

Just seen Rahane dropping Labuschagne. Predictably, going to hurt us massively.

Also reading Saini is of the field :houllier:

Pujara dropped a tough one too. Our backups aren't bad. With bumrah or ashwin i think we would have aus in trouble

The kids are doing pretty good. Would have been even better had Rahane taken that easy catch.

Natarajan is average and does not deserve to be playing.

Crap situation we're in.

Only hope is draw and there are three days of rain, I think we'll get a draw. Siraj is just very good.

What’s up with Bumrah? That’s like a whole new bowling lineup compared to the first test.

Its not just the bowling lineup either  Only 2 from the first test lineup (Pujara and Rahane) have made it to this test. We've lost most of the rest to injuries!

Crazy. Talk about players being thrown in the deep end.

Apparently he's got an abdominal strain.

The pitch in Galle looks to be really breaking up now. Becoming an absolute minefield.

Buttler should just go on the charge here. If he keeps poking and proding he's going to get out anyway.

He may have been playing safe until tea. Think we should keep batting as we currently are and use it to get some time in the middle with the lack of warm up games. Bat them well out of the game and then have at least a session at them tomorrow.

Forgot there was a English Cricket thread so will probably move discussion to there.

There - will leave this one for Aus and Indian fans to duke it out!

Also he’s only played 20 FC matches at the age of 29, I would have expected players to be nearer the 100 mark by that age.

Match is slowly slipping away from India's hands. Inexperience in the bowling is now showing. Our batters have to bat well if we are to draw let alone win.

Unless it rains I don't see how we can salvage anything.

With this much inexperience in our bowling our fielding needed to be perfect to support them. Unfortunately we dropped Labushagne in his 30s.

We continue to be unlucky... Edge off of Washington hit Pant but bounced short of 2nd slip.

At least Paine is out.

We've done brilliant to get 3 wickets in 3 overs. The flip side is Shardul is getting the ball to swing quite a bit. Which of course doesn't bode well for the Indian batting.

Can't believe the people complaining. Team is fighting harder than the star studded team of the 00s

Not sure which was a worse shot Wade's yesterday or Rohit's today.

Both mind bogglingly stupid shots.

I think in the context of the weakened batting line up I think that was a poor choice of shot. I get it he is an aggressive player but he was playing well and scoring well without unnecessary risks.

Loved the stat of how both Smith and Marnus having more test wickets than all of Indian bowling lineup before the match started.

If we avoid a follow on, then probably.. the forecast shows rains for day 4 and 5 .. If we avoid the follow on, Aus bat for at least 2 sessions.. a draw becomes a possibility.

I'm going to say it, Sharma is just too casual to make his name as a proper test batsman. No Kohli, inexperienced and out of form batting line-up and he's thrown away almost every single innings.

Meanwhile Sri Lanka giving England good batting practice. Any of us dreaming a whitewash in India should stop doing so!
