What's the little narcissist said?
She said that "if Moeen Ali were not stuck in cricket, he would have gone to Syria to join ISIS"

Her tweet is unavailable now but that's no surprise as many reported it. Vile woman

I'm desperately trying the find sarcasm or humour in that message. I can't.

What an awful thing to say.

Really interesting choice to pick Sarfraz. I’d have loved to have seen Haider Ali given a chance, but Misbah going to Misbah.

Good start by Pakistan, will probably collapse at some point.

Some late hits gets Pakistan to 320. Good stuff from Fakhar & Hasan. Babar just missing out on his century, but another quality innings from him.

Despite the decent score, this innings showed my biggest problem with Pakistan’s batting - we play like a ODI team stuck in the 90s. Against a weaker SA attack on a good pitch, we were in position to kill the game & get 350+. Instead, regular wickets fall & batting tempo drops so we end up 320 (courtesy of big shots from Hasan right at the end). All the best ODI teams have power hitters in the middle order to swing momentum, we really need that type of player(s).

What a flipper from Usman Qadir, your Dad Abdul Qadir and Shane Warne would be proud of that son.

Pakistan win the game & the series. SA did well with that chase considering a few of their starters weren’t playing. Enjoyable series, both teams have room for improvement.

Good T20 game with Pakistan just edging the win. Nice to see Rizwan get some runs after a disappointing return in the ODIs. SA should’ve won that game though.

Still don’t get the point of this when T20 works so well?!

It is stupid and will do more harm than good. They should have focused on revamping their t20 league like IPL or big bash than doing something stupid like this.

Big Bash has gone by the wayside, I don't think it is much better than the Blast at this stage. There has been a lot said about the Hundred but at this stage, I'd rather just see how it goes before completely castigating it.

I was watching the SA v Pakistan T20 this morning and Sisanda Magala bowled a 12 ball over. This immediately got me thinking about "What is the longest over ever bowled?" It turns out it was 22 balls by Bert Vance in a NZ domestic competition - Wellington v Canterbury. However, that was only half of the story since the bowler conceded 77 runs in that one over. It included 8 sixes and 6 fours and it also turned that the umpires and scorers got so confused by it all Vance only actually bowled five legitimate deliveries instead of the required six. Now that's a cricket story.

Brilliant from Babar & Rizwan, a very comfortable win for Pakistan. Babar’s having an excellent tour, his cover drive is a thing of beauty

what happened to the big bash? I haven't been following but back in the day it was the best T20 tournament

The quality has dropped massively as it has expanded from 32 group matches to 56 and the pitch quality has gone down as well.

I'd avoided the score for this game and was watching it on tape delay when I saw your response on here. Had just got through the SA innings as well and was looking forward to the Pakistan reply. Damn! ;) :(

Ed Smith been removed as selector. Silverwood gets to choose squads. Bit strange that. How would he do both roles, especially given selection requires you to know players on the circuit? It says they’ll use more tech but surely that should be audit specialist selectors vs the head coach who is on the road half the time.

I know there’s far less coverage of County Cricket compared to Premier League which is probably why they have selectors, but is having Silverwood pick the squad much different to Southgate picking his football squad?

I think it is because there is way less time at hand for an national cricket coach than for a football coach. Am not familiar with the calendar of county cricket - may to September? - but England play plenty during that time. Southgate can watch what he wants because club football and the national team are almost mutually exclusive.

My thinking is that they are basically giving him more power but in the end he will probably employ a few people to work under him and see the games around the country. So rather than the selectors giving him a squad and then him working with it , he would now have the final say. Not sure it's a great idea especially because Silverwood has made a lot of dodgy calls as England coach. I can understand the thought process behind the idea but just don't think that Silverwood has done enough to get this privilege

It’s a cost cutting exercise because of COVID. James Taylor still remains part of selection although his role now is as a Head Scout, so I guess he will be tasked with watching as much of the county fixtures as he cans before reporting to Silverwood and the captains.

Two centuries, one unbeaten, for Haseeb Hameed in his match for Notts. 111, as the eighth wicket to fall, out of a score of 276 in the first innings is pretty impressive. Worcs didn't get a single wicket in the second innings as the match became a very dull draw, so less so there.

Promising signs. He's still just 24, so I'm sure England will be pretty keen to give him another go if he has more performances like this.

Forecast looks shit for the next few days.

Irrespective of the weather, they should be playing a proper series (3 games) to decide the winner of the Test Championship.

Might to be too early to say but this could be a good toss to lose for India. Put good runs and pressure is on NZ.
