Is he still talking about it? I thought people had moved on to Archer now as he's not available for the first test of the summer. And I agree with the criticism in his case.

They're contracted by England first and foremost so the ECB would have the option of recalling them if they wanted to.

I think ECB(or any other board) should hand out contracts that explicitly state the terms and conditions for leagues. I assume this must already be in there, which is why the ECB is not raising objections.

If the ECB had a contract that said unilaterally the ECB can bring them back any time, these players would not be getting bought(or bought for much lower prices). I don't think this is a question of sanctity(ie international is more important) or spirit of cricket, it should simply be written into the contract. The price can be decided basis that.
 
Just been watching some IPL highlights of a game between KKR and Sunrisers Hyderabad.
I've not been watching these much but why so much focus on the women in the crowd and also the three dancing cheerleaders?
Has Indian club cricket always been like that?

ICC have approved a trial of switching to the pink ball in cases of bad light, providing both sides agree before the start of a test.

Going to be fun in those conditions huh?

Players best spend a fair bit of time practicing with them as they'll need a wide box of ball for that scenario.

Might be something that sides will never agree on.

It's worth trying though, the amount of play lost to bad light in the UK is ridiculous and conditions change all the time anyway.

Can be solved here by switching up the schedule but the money makers won't do that.

I'll let it play out but I suspect it'll go the way of the Kookabura trial.
 
Being reported that Surya's been dropped from the T20 squad to tour England. India don't get sentimental about selection anymore.

Apart from Shahid Afridi, which everyone knows, Younis Khan also revealed, after his retirement, that he's two years older than his documented age. Hell, even one of my cousins who tried to make it as a cricketer once lied about his age to try and be selected for a youth tournament :lol:

Australia 2-0 down against Bangladesh in their ODI series. Struggling with the transition from the old guard. They were 0-3 in their innings at one stage. Also Rana, the Bangladesh bowler is quick, apparently reached 156kph today.

Kane Williamson averages 42 in Australia, 28 in England and 34 in India. It’s a very poor record considering he played in the flattest era of batting. At home, nz mostly had roads.

Root is 3 times the player. I think this is a nz thing — plucky underdog and lovely guy.. gets overrated
