Cristian Orozco new midfielder to sign in 2026

Being a bad passer is a prerequisite not a hindrance for us
Hahaha.

I know United fans always rave about Scholes but I'd rather highlight 38-40 year old CM Giggs. We had a very similar player in 38-40 year old Ze Roberto.

Ex-wingers with superb technique, surprisingly good tackling ability, nimble, very good passing (maybe not Scholes or Kroos level but still way above average).

They beat the pressure all the time, understand LB/CM/LW perfectly so they connect the pitch. And centrally they are still even quicker than most CM's even though they lost a step compared to their winger days.

We had our fair share of destroyers or passers as well at Bayern but when it worked at its best there was always a Ze Roberto or Thiago Alcantara next to them.

United should break the bank and get Verratti from Qatar or wherever he is, dude would probably still dominate the EPL for 5 years.

Hopefully he does well. Look forward to seeing him play. Hopefully Antonaccio has unearthed a gem for us.

He’ll be another player signed by one manager but won’t see first team action under a new manager who has his own new signings. And the cycle will continue.

I'm not sure Ruben Amorim was crying out for a 17 year old from Colombia he's never seen play in person, this is a club signing. Most young players turn out to be crap so the odds are against him but it won't be due to a potential change in the head coach.

He is for thre future.
Even if this doesn't work out, we should be able to sell him for 5-10M and get some profits and get FFP money.

Nothing to do with manager.

Managers don't sign 17 year olds.

I dont think so. He wont be considered an Amorim player because he wont see first team football under him. A new manager can come in and take credit for promoting him to the first team. It'll be his player

Is it me or does he look a lot like Mainoo in those vids?

Yep, definitely some Mainoo in there (dribbling/skill) but at least from the vids he looks like he's happier to play progressive passes with more range. Possibly even stronger although Mainoo is strong himself, Orozco looks super strong like Baleba. He also looks quicker. I think he's probably a mix of those 2 players which is very exciting. The only drawback will be that it will almost certainly take a while before we see him in the first team after we sign him.

Agree with everything there. I think he has a similar build to Caicedo. Very tankish. Tell you what though, would be nice to have a few more prospects like him.

Made a mistake that led to a goal at 2:32. The player who scored looks offside to me but still, maybe it'll calm some of our expectations

Also scores around 3:33

And goes in hard then goes head to head with a player around 4:31 so might be a little hot headed

But a few bits of nice skill and play in there

Was actually just about to post this!

All in all, I thought he looked good. The most promising thing for me was that he didn't panic when pressed. He trusted himself to be able to shield the ball and turn away from his opponent. It did cost his team a goal but it's all apart of the process of developing at this level. Mistakes happen, and he didn't seem to shrink after making that mistake. Instead, he went and scored a nice goal himself.

I mean ... you had Schweinsteiger as a winger for how many years too. WHAT a player he was when got played down the middle in the end. But yea Ze Roberto, that's a blast from the past, also aged like a fine wine

Currently captaining Colombia in the U-17 World Cup...

His name sounds like a world class player. Let's hope he will be our Caicedo!

I remember watching this lad kicking his mums placenta in the womb, have wanted United to sign him since then.

If we don't sign another CM in January then it would not shock me if he gets pushed into the first team squad after a few months. He looks like he has all the attributes and more importantly looks physically strong enough to cope.

Much like Heaven, he'll feature in a few games then give Mainoo some company on the bench.

Doesn't look stand out.
It's hard to tell but I thought I'd post it regardless.

Keep in mind that he is still only 17 and is playing against senior level players here. In that sense, the few times he was able to shield the ball and turn away from his opponent were promising. You don't really get an idea of his passing range or defensive positioning for the most part, though.

His composure under pressure in general seems good. Doesn't panic, trusts himself to keep possession, etc.

Isn't he a kid playing in a men's league here? Looks fine to me in terms of a 'base'. Obviously you'd expect this kind of player to be a couple of years off the 1st team. Even Caicedo went on loan after joining Brighton before he was introduced gradually into the 1st team, and he had more hype around him/was more expensive (I remember the Tim Vickery report on the BBC when Utd were trying to sound out a deal).

Looks fine to me. Looks an absolute unit at 17, ready for senior football.

Think he'll probably play for the u21s next season like Leon has done, maybe for 6 months then find him a loan.
