Cristiano Ronaldo - 965/1000

Nah, I just like him as athlete and footballer.
And I hope he sends me money for defending him on the internet :smirk::smirk::smirk::smirk::smirk:

On a serious note - yeah, every story has two sides to it. So I'm willing to forgive and forget and just enjoy the football part.
It's kind of a spiritual journey, letting go of irrational hatred for random billionaire athletes. One step and the time :D

Don't be weird.

The stronger the team the quicker he hits his 1000 goals. That's all he's thinking about, I'm sure, nothing to do with trophies. He could get a career ending injury at any time so needs those last few goals as quick as possible. He's at an age where his Achilles could blow just doing his warm up.
Surely then he'd be wanting to play as often as possible so that he can hit his tally quicker, rather than avoiding a few games because of this pointless strike?

You’re absolutely right in saying that he thinks of nothing but himself and hitting 1,000 goals, but I don't quite understand his mentality here.

Not really sure how that makes sense when Al Nassr are stronger than 95% of the teams in the league and he’s topscorer in the league basically every year. If it was about goals, he wouldnt be missing games, losing match fitness while he only gets older and older. It’s very obvious and logical it’s because Al Nassr are 2nd tier to the likes of Al Hilal.

Heehee you were literally writing "feck EVERYONE" in the matchday forum a few weeks ago when we were losing a football match! There's a very cute, try-hard ":D" energy about your posts here.

Yeah it's strange.

He's won 5 CL or whatever it is, he's won titles in Spain and England and Italy. He's won a major honour with Portugal.

Saudi Arabian trophies mean absolutely feck all.
You'd think he'd be content to just get another 39 tap ins to crawl to 1000 goals and then he can retire. It's mad he actually seems to care about winning utterly meaningless trophies.
Wait and watch his fans tell you how big it is if he wins it this season.

Teammate just did his celebration as a tribute so along with the fans, they seem to agree with him aswell.

He is one of the greatest ever if not the greatest, he has and always will be a spoilt brat but Saudis need to remember and realise with out him there is no Saudi league.

Part of me thinks thou Ronaldo is bored doesn’t need the money and is possibly angling to get out of his contract to go to the states. Messi vs Ronaldo again or messi and Ronaldo vs the rest?? It’s the dream?

Dream for whom? Watching washed-up athletes certainly ain't a dream.

Seeing stories they're considering selling him for 40 odd million. Unless they're paying him out and he goes on a free, I don't see how they'll shift him.

To be honest he is a very hyper competitive guy, has to have had that mentality to reach the heights he has, so not a surprise he values it as much.

Didn't agree with him enough to boycott the match themselves. Then, I suppose somebody has to go and try and win this title. You can only realise so much ambition by sulking in your compound.

That's his release clause I believe.

Most people don’t seem to understand that when Ronaldo signed his last contract at Al Nassr, he essentially became part owner. The club made a lot of promises to keep him that just haven’t been fulfilled (which is not a fault of Al Nassr itself but the broader federation). Everything going on is simply far beyond the other players.

Like Jordan and even Messi, it should be evident that at this late stage of Ronaldo’s career, he’s no longer just a player.

This is a summary of everything:

It’s hilarious reading all the responses from people in here that know absolutely zilch but will comment to itch their own agenda.

The fact remains that Al Nassr has much bigger wage budget than all the other clubs.

I don't think spending is the issue. I think Ronaldo is issue himself.

Maybe he should ask them to sign him Messi so he can finally win something in Saudi Arabia.

For what it’s worth, that timeline may be accurate. I won’t deny that at all.

But getting it from a Twitter Account that has Ronaldo as its banner may not be a great place to prove a point.

I'm very surprised that this league in Saudi is a bit dodgy.

43m release clause
He will have to pay it himself if he wants out. Nobody will want him for that money, absolutely.

It is the same thing as when he was leaving United. No sane club wanted him, Ronaldo was world class only in his own head by that time.

Selling him where? MLS only chance, but who has the money?

This is Maticmaker levels of propaganda.

You are the one posting with an agenda, I'd say...

So Ronaldo is kicking up a fuss because PIF are not skewing the competition towards his own team??

Embarrassing really.

This also says a lot about how corrupt and pointless the Saudi League is.

Phew there is captain penandes. Great goal.

The fans are fans of him, not the club. If he went to another Saudi club, most of the fans would follow him.

They agree because they are brown-nosing Ronaldo fanboys.

He's not ever going to live in the States. He may find some legal documents on his door step if he ever did.

I thought exactly that myself. Nobody in their right mind is paying £40 million on a 41 year old.
