Cristiano Ronaldo - 968/1000

He was totally correct in what he said to Morgan, wasn't he?
He came out and undermined the manager in public, rather than in private - how is that the correct way to act?

How come you've also ignored the comments on being a 'slave' and him walking out of the stadium in the middle of a match?

I feel as though it's really not that difficult to see why there is a level of distaste for him here. He's done far more to disrespect our club than almost any ex-player in recent times.

Not sure why there is so much hatred for Ron on the caf.
Don't care if he's a dick or a narcissist, the guy brought us the last truly glory days so far and is the last best in the world player we've created.

Hope he wins the WC contributing nothing but scoring a bunch of penalties. I really do.
What wouldn’t you excuse in return for success?

There really is no low he won't sink to. This tantrum over Benzema changing clubs is just glorious

Even more pathetic in a way than the full siuuu celebration of the accidental goal with his back grazing the ball a few weeks ago.

Walking out of the stadium during a match.
Yes walking out the stadium when you're on the bench because the team where playing better without him vs Spurs shows that he's not that professional despite his fanboys jerking off to his mentality.

I have to admit all the pearl clutching about the dislike of him on here is hilarious.

Why does he even care about the Saudi league?
No one cares if he wins it or not. It means nothing.

It’s not like Messi is the goat because he won the mls.

Yeah it's strange.

He's won 5 CL or whatever it is, he's won titles in Spain and England and Italy. He's won a major honour with Portugal.

Saudi Arabian trophies mean absolutely feck all. You'd think he'd be content to just get another 39 tap ins to crawl to 1000 goals and then he can retire. It's mad he actually seems to care about winning utterly meaningless trophies.

So he has 39 goals to go. I'd be curious (but not curious enough to check lol) to know how long it has taken him to get his last 39 goals.

He presumably won't retire until he hits 1000 and if he's only inching his way there it might get really, really tragic.

The stronger the team the quicker he hits his 1000 goals. That's all he's thinking about, I'm sure, nothing to do with trophies. He could get a career ending injury at any time so needs those last few goals as quick as possible. He's at an age where his Achilles could blow just doing his warm up.

I feel like going public and calling out the Glazers was for the better of our club.
He also was correct about ETH being shit manager.

As far as the slave comment - I recall he agreed with it, he didn't directly say it. Obviously wanted to force a move. I wasn't happy with it, but it's in the past for me.

The situation with him walking off the stadium was in a period where he needed support and the club clearly didn't offer enough. Also, you can't really tell Cristiano fecking Ronaldo to put his head down and work for his place in the team, can you?
There are always two sides to a story.
I just choose to remember what a great player he was for us, holding grudges is stupid. Especially when we'll never know the whole story.

He wasn't the only player to call out the way Glazers ran the club.

At his age and form you absolute could. Walking off from work when you're the highest paid player in the league.

You can't tell a player who's next club would be in Saudi Arabia that he's not good enough for the Premier League? You don't have to. The zero clubs lining up to sign him said everything.

Ronaldo didn't care about The Glazers, the crack in a swimming pool tile and especially not the United fans. He cared only about himself. Whether there was any truth in all the grassing up he did on Piers Morgan is irrelevant, it was all about saving his own blushes.

I said in here a while back I doubt he even gets to 1000 and was jumped on. I've no doubt he'll want to keep going until he does, but it might not be in his hands.

One of his arguments is he's won everywhere he went. It's also one of his fanboys arguments.

He's a rapist and happily does PR for Trump and Saudi Arabia.

Benzema did the same thing and worse when he was unhappy with his last club. He missed 6 consecutive training sessions and didn’t participate again until the coach was sacked (Ronaldo is actually still training as far what’s been reported).
He then left the club for dead when things didn’t go his way to join their biggest rivals.
Ofcourse none of this is Ronaldo (who’s humanity and whatnot is being questioned).
so nobody actually cares.

In fact nobody actually cares now either it’s just a tool for those that already have an agenda against him to get their lick in irrespective of the actual facts.

There isn't a Benzema thread that keeps being updated every other week by weird fans for this to be mentioned in. Benzema has also never played for (and disrepected) Manchester United. Benzema is also not the most followed athlete in the world. Ronaldo gets more attention because he has craved attention his entire life.

Succumbed to goal madness.
A sorry sickness of many a striker.
Pele had it bad.

Will 1000 be enough?
Will he spend the rest of his life looking for more?
Will people be able to play a friendly game anywhere near his location again?
Probably.

I give this poem 3/10

He should just shut up and play football. You know, the thing he is good at. I don't know why anyone would care about his opinion about how a club or league should be run.

Why does he even care about the Saudi league?

Yeah. Why can't he be like most rich people that would say no to big money, when they think they have enough.

I don't think money has anything to do with the post you answered to. Not that we shouldn't be allowed to old rich people to higher standards either.

Money IS why he cares about Saudi League. He could go to Luxembourg League if all he cares are goals.

...is he your son or something?

Nah, I just like him as athlete and footballer.
And I hope he sends me money for defending him on the internet :smirk::smirk::smirk::smirk::smirk:

On a serious note - yeah, every story has two sides to it. So I'm willing to forgive and forget and just enjoy the football part.
It's kind of a spiritual journey, letting go of irrational hatred for random billionaire athletes. One step and the time :D

Can you specify what exactly you are forgiving and forgetting?

"Tune in tomorrow! Same brat-time, same brat-channel!"

He scored his 922nd (and 923rd) on Febraury 3rd 2025. Hes scored 39 goals since then.

He doesn’t have a leg to stand on.

If you’re unhappy other clubs are signing players, leave.

He'd honestly have a better legacy if he just retired after juventus on 800 goals or whatever

Seems like he has the full support of the fans from the reception in today’s game.
