Cristiano Ronaldo - 973/1000

Most certainly but with Ronaldo our chances are even worse and the chance of drama is high.

Yeah I feel bad for you Portuguese. The drama queen reduces the chances of winning.
Expect him to take 20 shots, hitting 9 innocent kids in the stands with his free kicks.

Al Nassr vs Osaka

Not sure I'd completely write him off for the WC. He did alright in the NL recently for his role. Naturally i think they'd be better off without him and he should still be suspended for the 1st 2 games, but i don't know hopefully for Portugal he has humility to be a squad player.

That is some strong stuff you are on. Can you hook me up?

Bad choice of words. I guess what i noticed is that he's talking less shit this time around. In 2022 he did the whole checkmate with Messi and running his mouth with Piers. After the last WC and the Euros he's aware that he was considering their worst performer. So he's resorted to statements like why should a players greatness be determined by his performance in a tournament with 6 games?

Perhaps self awareness is a better word than humility.

Let’s hope so. If he accepts a bench role, Portugal chances increase massively, he can play the last 20 mins and probably go deep into the tournament that way.

Maybe because he hasn't scored a single goal in a knock-out game in the last 5 World Cups and he's a shell of his former self?

I meant as an option. I know NL has the same prestige as the league cup on a International level, but he still managed to do a job. I'd agree though they'd be better off without him but that's not happening.

meh, I trully think that specially in WCs to score on any instance it's vital, the ammount of huge teams leaving the CUP without even managing to get the KO stages because of not scoring enough it's huge.

Including KO stages, then?

I'm sure there are others. For example, Carbajal of Mexico played in 5 world cups and it's unlikely he scored in any game.

A quick AI search is also adding Andrés Guardado and Rafa Márquez. Not verified it myself.

Lothar must have scored, not many, but at least one or a couple. In any case this would be another example of an extraordinary player not scoring that much (of coruse he is amidfielder, yet one of the best eevr box to box, if not the best) and still being vital for Germany

Such power, I recall also a penalty against the Czechs in the WC90? maybe I'm wrong, maybe another penalty or open goal too, my memory fails.

His game against Yugoslavia in the Group stages was fantastic (one of the goals a perfect example of his box to box capabilities), showing once again that it's extremely important to be there in group stages, WCs are incredible unforgivable in such regard

Yes, but a ridiculous bounce on a shitty pitch.

His quest for a first Saudi league title could end today. It's the final match day of the season - Al Nassr have a 2 point lead over Al Hilal.

25 minutes in, Al Nassr are drawing 0-0 while Al Hilal are winning 1-0.

As the decided is H2H and not goal difference, Al Hilal are currently top because of that tie breaker.

Edit: Mané puts Al Nassr 1-0 up.

The game is being streamed on YouTube for anyone who has nothing better to do this evening:

Felt like he was just cursed with the Saudi League title.

Finally he got it

Happy for him, hopefully he'll call it a day now before his body leaves him, but this is Ronaldo, he'll want 1000 goals then call it a day, so maybe 1 more season?
