Do you think it's not clear that no matter how Popular and massive Cristiano and Messi still are, a lot less people bar fans (hence I've talked about neutrals) of them watch them play in their respective leagues, no matter even if it's a Final.
The Whole World wasn't watching the game my man, like when it actually stopped in their Real vs Barca days; yet indeed the WHOLE world would react whenever he wins (like he did) or if he looses a Cup, Tournament, creating posts and lost of social media material.

More than that he has scored more than 30 penalties since he arrived to Arabia, that's more or less an entire season.

I know, a goal is a goal, but it's trully a lot of them for such a short period of time.

Agreed, only watching very few highlights as it’s total garbage, most the fouls were so ticky tacky and heavily favored toward Al Nas favor.

Weren't Al Nassr 2nd/3rd before Cristiano went on a strike/boycotted some games? They probably then decided to make Al Nassr champions as Ronaldo is certainly biggest brand for that league so had to make him champion finally after they failed previous 3 seasons. Couldn't even win the cup.

Atletico once bought him for around 126 millions, thats certainly up there as one of the worst transfers of all time.

Easy on the eye, some good technical skills, but never close to what was hyped up to be.

He is very good technically but he doesn’t have the physicality or work rate for the big leagues.

Best season outside Portugal was at La liga with 8 goals in the league which is ok.

At Saudi he has 20 goals and 13 assists.

Meh with conspiracies (real and invented ones), those would always be present on every tournament in the entire history of the game benefiting and perjudicating the very same team at the same time in not few ocassions, we just have to live with it.

When I've talked about the penalties, I was focusing in that many goals didn't came from open play, just that. So that is a factor to take in account regarding the fitness and state of finishing ability of any player.

I still think that Portugal has enough team to provide him in a more stationary role, he just have to be on his best finishing boots to take advantage of that. I know his age, and that in some of the clips used as meme lately he is looking extremely stiff (he always was a tad like that even in his best days), also his ego and all that. Yet it just takes for him to be really focus, to be more open to be managed just for 8 games, to actually have a chance to win the precious my precious ring. It's not that unfeasible and knowing him throught the years he can even feed from this very thread.

He lacks also to be more clever, he still can with his build be more of a menace if he was more clever on how to use his talent even continuing to be at times lazy, meaning also positioning, when to go and when not, etc etc. It's good nonetheless this title to build soem confidence, the WC it's just 8 games and surrounded with palyers that already handle huge competitions, liberates him to do some off the cuff dammage.

Except for the Utd games, I barely watch football these days. I didnt even watch the league cup final, FA cup final or Europa league final. But like millions of others, I tuned in yesterday for the Al Nassr game just like I watched Messi lift the MLS title. Even after winning so many trophies, you can still see how much the Saudi league title means to Ronaldo. That hunger, that obsession to keep winning even after achieving everything is what separates the greats from the legends. Portugal are going to win the world cup and that would be the perfect tribute to one of the greatest ever.
