It's how our social media conflict algorithms work. Ronaldo vs Messi is one of the online debates that splits people nicely into camps, which then help some actors to target their followers for other conflicts/opportunities while driving their own engagement too. A lot of those involved online in the debate will have never watched a full football match, but they are invovled for their own ends. Can someone please clarify something for me. Is the whole Ronaldo online fandom very manosphere adjacent?
My 17 year old son and his friends won't hear a bad word about him. And I'm starting to worry that doesn't have much to do with football (at their age, they've only ever watched him play crap)
Sounds awfully conspiratorial, but seems that's where we are in a lot of online spaces now.
