Cristiano Ronaldo - Much Ado About Al Nassr

Nice contract he just signed. I wonder about the 16 staff paid for by the club. Are they handpicked by him (from Portugal) or arranged by the club? I'd be extremely paranoid by the latter.

He'll get his 1000 goals for sure.

Most likely hand-picked by him.
So they can tell him every morning how he is the greatest and how beautiful he is etc. etc.

In fairness to him, with a ridiculous contract like that, (and what the previous one was) , its amazing he has any desire to be out there playing every week at his age. He still wants 90mins each time, and wants goals.

My opinion of him soured after how he carried himself at the end of that 2nd Utd stint, but I have to admit, cant have nothing for respect for his drive and desire. At least hes not doing a Neymar and coasting through the latter half of his career

I get what you're saying mate but if he had wanted to challenge himself over the last 2 years. He wouldn't be playing in Saudi Arabia. He's there for goals to pad his stats and shit loads of money.

100% agree with this too. I think he knew in his head he couldnt hang in the big league anymore, so went somewhere where his best effort actually have any impact.

If those contract numbers are true, feck me!

€200M/year… I saw some circulating with double that but it is a confusion. That’s probably the wroth of the 2 year contract.

The only thing missing is expensive hookers.

Insane amount of money to pay a guy to essentially be an advertiement for the Saudi League.

When you add it all up they're paying Ronaldo every year roughly the same amount as Real pay their entire squad. And yet there are still people out there who for some inexplciable reason think football would be more competitive without FFP/PSR.

They don’t need to win anything. Ronaldo signing brings in more money than winning trophies. They even get more “attention” now from anti-Ronaldo and anti-Saudi peeps. Win-win.

Theres no way all of this is true. and the 4m of private jet expenses doesnt go that far.

I dont know about the non-football bonuses but the rest looks the same as the contract he's had the past 2 years, €200M per year.

The true meaning of when life gives you lemon, you make a lemonade.

It's all started when EtH sidelined him and majority of people thought he's finished.

One of the most?

What else - except his previous contract - is in this realm of madness, Messi?

All depends what he's paying for. If the plane is already owned and operated by the state, that 4m could go a hell of a long way.

Probably a bit like having a fuel card for a company car.

They were right. He was finished at the highest level. That's why he's playing in the Saudi Pro League.

The best paid footballer in Europe, Mbappé is believed to be earning 70M per year at Madrid (+23M per year if you include his massive signing bonus)… He was on similar money at PSG. And Messi at Barcelona was making even more than that (cirka 150M)

That’s € isn’t it? And around half the value of C.Ron’s latest (the Mbappe amount). Can see it with Messi, and it makes sense, but if Mbappe is the next closest with the amount you mention, it’s really the company of 2, unless whatever Haaland is getting under the table brings him up to that kind of absurdity. Ah, I guess Neymar in Saudi probably had something stupid, too?

Yes Euros… Neymar and Benzema were earning over $100M in Saudi (Benzema still there)…

Haaland is a mystery as are all of City’s deals… Forbes has Ronaldo up there with Messi’s old contract and with Golf player Rahm.

ETH played a blinder. Best thing he did here.
Dangled just enough rope infront of Ronaldo, and his petulance and man child behaviour did all the rest for him.

There’s a reason his in the Saudi league, no top European club would touch him, you can see why now.

Crazy.

Weird the way they worded it then, as he eclipses everyone but Messi. Don’t think that kind of deal will be bettered anytime in the next decade or even two as it’ll take someone who achieves as much as those two, with as much clout as a brand for the oil states to even consider it.

So if 15% of the club is valued at £33m, the whole club is worth £220m.

He's on nearly that each year.

I love the fact that his bonuses are like "meh what's the point".

Imagine doing the best sales in the office to end up earning a yearly bonus of like 1/50th of your weekly pay. I'd be Jack Rodwell'ing the shit out of this.

I’m genuinely curious to see who he brings in to facilitate his game and pursuit of the target. He still holds by far the biggest advantage with his heading and it takes the least out of him, so I’m envisioning a number of quality crossers of the ball.

Or wingers who can take a tumble in the area to get those penalties? Garnacho and Rashford are right there Ronnie!

Nah.. he's living the dream of many footballers at his age, and still playing football at international stage.

If he lowered his wage demand, I'm sure many big 5 league Clubs would still gladly take him.

What we know is that he ended up there because no top european club took him after leaving United in the worst possible way. We don't know at what wage demand level, that much is true.

Also the last few months at United were far from good on the pitch too, and that was a good 3 years ago, and he hasn't got any younger.

Perhaps though I doubt it. But hypothetically, he wouldn't be at a club where he'd score more than 10-20 goals a season.

He's in Saudi to pad his stats and makes tonnes on money being an advert for the league. They aren't paying him all that money for his ability on the pitch.

Yeah. My point was, he came out good from those bad situation, and some.

Im more interested in those 16 people provided by the club. If i was paid that much and a global superstar, id rather bring my own people honestly.
