Be weird to see him in a city kit but I don't want him at united without fixing the midfield. Plus I feel someone like martial needs selling first.

Not really what United needs.

I can see two options and if things and transfer is so easily.

1. Martial to Juventus in the other way. Same as Ronaldo. STriker/left winger

2. United need a super creative nr.8. A complete nr.8. Bruno fits the bill. Drop Bruno down as nr.8 and Ronaldo as a CAM and nr.10. Still offer Martial and DVB if they want them.

Only two positions where Ronaldo can go in. Not as a main striker. United have Cavani, Greenwood and Rashford can play as CF/options.

Ronaldo as LW and Sancho as RW or Ronaldo as CAM and Bruno as nr.8

Just waiting for a Simon Stone/James Ducker tweet to come out and kill this story of him returning to us.
You just know that Simon Stone will be frantically trying to debunk it as we speak. Giving negative United news and then reading the comments is about the only thing that gets him hard these days

Surely it would be worse if City spook us into panic spending on a 36 year old?
A natural goal scorer with his record for big moments? Considering Cavani seems like he'll be playing for Uruguay this season and quarantining constantly in Manchester, it wouldn't be the worst idea.

Laugh all you want, he is still:
Top scorer in Euro this summer
Top scorer in Serie A last season
Scored more goals than anyone in Italy in past 2-3 years
Scored more goals than anyone in CL history
Scored more goals than anyone in football history
Laugh all you want, but you still
Need help
Need help
Need help
You still need help.

Hes still an elite poacher. Man City need an elite poacher. On the pitch, he literally ticks the box of what they need in attack. Someone to be a threat off the ball, make the runs in behind and find open space. Not to mention his big game mentality and record, and CL pedigree. So on the pitch, yes.

Off the pitch it's a nightmare. This gets them fame in a way no other signing could. It gets them one over United. It pushes United down and cements them at the top in terms of current reputability. It's a slow transition turning into a big club, you always need a lot of convincing to get fans and all that, but a signing like Ronaldo is a big step that would otherwise be impossible.
That's worrisome

Honestly it's almost a free hit if we sign him for what 25M ?

The PR/ Tshirt Sales/ Commercial value he would bring would pay for the fee itself, plus he's err still in decent knick and would score a few goals , i'd take him on a 2 year deal any day of the week

This is going to be something like Ronaldos going to PSG or signed a new deal with Juve and this whole Rio thing was done to troll City fans isnt it?
Considering how the Cavani situation is unfolding it may be something that wasn’t planned for but now deemed necessary

Would happily send off Martial to Juve in return for Ronaldo tbh.

Until Rashford/Cavani are available, for me it'd be obvious.

Sancho - Ronaldo - Greenwood
Bruno
McTominay - Pogba

He's a cherry picking #9 at this point.

Same here. I don't think we would get much with him in our team and it would hurt us in the long run (at least for the next season as well)

PSG will be just fine.
We aren't a well oiled machine. We are a team of individuals who are painfully inconsistent at playing cohesive football.
The current Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the worst players you could put into that mix. I can guarantee it would be a disaster.
I always feel a club that is confident in its sense of direction isn't distracted by these things. Let City have him. We need to continue building as planned. Fans are the ones that are emotional, the club should be above that.

30M to Juve plus 500k a week in wages and he's hardly the final piece to push us over the top.
So have you seen the numbers he posted last season? Have you seen the amount of money we've wasted on utter shit? All of a sudden money becomes an issue? That's before we even begin to factor in his value off the pitch. Yes when a player has over 500 million followers on social media, that makes a huge difference to any team that signs him. Forget shirt sales, he will add value instantly. 500k per week is pocket money when you consider what the likes of De Gea on and what they bring to our team on and off the pitch.

Honestly, its the off the field look that makes it so much harder to swallow

Do we want him to come here so we don’t have to see him with city?

Or do we actually want him?
It's this. Could be something special though Sancho Ronaldo Greenwood being fed by Bruno and Pogba.

You mean Fergie picking him up personally at the Airport so the cnuts from City can't sign him?
Any sort of hijack where the powers that be at the club realise they cannot let City sign that player. United will struggle to stomach the thought of Cristiano Ronaldo being a Manchester City player.

The Cavani thing is worrying. He’s our only proven goal scorer and looks like he could be unavailable for the better part of half the season.

I definitely think we need to sign a goal scorer now, even ahead of a CM

This, exactly this. This will cement them as a top team to the vast majority of neutral fans.

Can't spell Mkhitaryan

Things pass, it is a law of life. Juventus remains, which is the most important thing. Ronaldo gave his contribution, he made himself available, now he goes away, and life goes on "
